The frame consists of 2 steel channel rails, a rear crossmember, a number of additional support crossmember and a front crossmember.
The No. 1A (4WD only) and the No. 1 crossmember are welded to the frame side rails. The remaining frame crossmember are riveted and/or bolted into place.

Scheme 19: Drilling Precautions
- If a hole must be drilled in the frame, make sure the hole meets the following requirements: The hole is at least the specified distance from the edge of the nearest hole. The edge of the drilled hole is at least the specified distance from the edge of the flange. The hole is at least the specified distance above the frame centerline. The drilled hole is at least the specified distance from any other existing bracket or component of the frame.
