Power Windows: Overview Ford Probe II

Power window system consists of 2 switches, one lock switch, and 2 motor and drive assemblies. Driver's door armrest contains left and right up/down control switches for both driver's door window and passenger's door window.

Power windows are regulated by 2 encased cables. (Scheme 1) The cables connect an electric motor-driven regulator to a slider bracket. When power window switch is operated, cables move slider bracket up and down. Vehicle is equipped with a one-touch (down) feature. This allows driver to fully open driver's or passenger's window by firmly pressing switch and then releasing. When the window is fully open, the switch will release.
