POWER WINDOW FUNCTION TEST
Turn ignition on. Check operation of all driver's side window switches. If both windows are not working, go to Test A. If left window is not working, go to Test B. If right window is not working, go to Test C. If passenger's side switch is not working, go to Test D. If One-Touch feature does not operate, replace main power window switch.
- Check 30 amp power window fuse. Replace fuse if bad. If fuse continues to blow, go to step 2). If fuse does not fail, go to step 4).
- Turn ignition off. Locate and disconnect 16-pin interior fuse panel connector. (Scheme 6) Disconnect main power window switch connector and passenger's power window switch connector. Measure resistance between Black/Red wire at 16-pin interior fuse panel connector and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Black/Red wire between power window switches and interior fuse panel. If resistance is not less than 5 ohms, go to step 3).
- With ignition off, disconnect main power window switch connector. Measure resistance between switch connector Green/Black, Red/Blue, Green/White and Red/White wires and ground. If any resistances are less than 5 ohms, repair circuit in question for a short to ground. If no resistances are less than 5 ohms, reconnect interior fuse panel and go to step 4).
- With ignition off, disconnect main power window switch connector. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage on Black/Red wire at main power window switch connector. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair Black/Red wire between switch and interior fuse panel.
- With ignition off, remove 15 amp ROOM fuse from fuse panel. Disconnect main power window switch connector. Measure resistance of Black wire between main power switch connector and ground. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair Black wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace main control switch.

TEST B - LEFT WINDOW INOPERATIVE
- Perform «MAIN SWITCH TEST»(ref-28510-S28134912172001010800000) under TESTING. If main switch is okay, go to next step. If main switch fails test, replace main switch.
- Perform «MOTOR TEST»(ref-28510-S08692322632001010800000) under TESTING. If window motor is okay, repair wire(s) between main switch and left side window motor. If motor fails test, replace motor.
TEST C - RIGHT WINDOW INOPERATIVE
- Perform «MAIN SWITCH TEST»(ref-28510-S28134912172001010800000) under TESTING. If main switch is okay, go to next step. If main switch fails test, replace main switch.
- Perform «MOTOR TEST»(ref-28510-S08692322632001010800000) under TESTING. If window motor is okay, go to next step. If motor fails test, replace motor.
- With ignition off, disconnect right switch connector. Turn key to ON position. Measure voltage of Black/Red wire at connector. If voltage is greater than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair Black/Red wire.
- Perform «RIGHT CONTROL SWITCH TEST»(ref-28510-S30598281342001010800000) under TESTING. If right control switch fails test, replace switch. If switch is okay, go to next step.
- With ignition off, disconnect both main control switch and right control switch connectors. Measure resistance of Green/White and Red/White wires between main switch and right switch connectors. Measure resistance of Green/White and Red/White wires between main switch and ground. Resistance between switches be less than 5 ohms. Resistance between switch and ground should be more than 10,000 ohms. If resistances are correct, repair wire(s) between right control switch and right window motor. If resistances are not correct, repair wire(s) in question.
TEST D - RIGHT WINDOW SWITCH INOPERATIVE
- Turn ignition key on. Operate right power window motor from left side main switch. If right window operates properly, go to next step. If right window does not operate properly, go to TEST C.
- Turn ignition key off. Disconnect right control switch connector. Turn key on. Measure voltage of Black/Red wire at connector. If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace right control switch. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair Black/Red wire.
MAIN SWITCH TEST
With ignition off, remove main power window switch. Leave electrical connector connected. Check voltage at switch as shown in the MAIN POWER SWITCH VOLTAGES table, while altering switch positions. If voltages are within specification, go to appropriate test under TROUBLE SHOOTING, if applicable. If voltages are not within specification, replace main power window switch.

MOTOR TEST
Turn ignition key off. Disconnect motor(s) in question. Apply 12 volts to one terminal of motor and ground the other terminal. Motor should move in one direction. Reverse power and ground connections. Motor should move in the other direction. If motor does not operate correctly, go to appropriate test under TROUBLE SHOOTING , if applicable, or replace questionable motor.
