CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT
The CHECK ENGINE warning light indicates malfunctions in the electronic engine control system. When functioning correctly, the light comes on when the ignition switch is turned to the ON position and goes out after the engine starts. If the lamp fails to glow with ignition switch on or illuminates when the engine is running, a service need is indicated.
BRAKE SYSTEM LIGHT
The BRAKE light indicates that either the parking brake is engaged or there is a malfunction of the dual braking system. The light should come on briefly when ignition switch is turned to the ON position and go out after engine starts and the parking brake is released. If the light stays on, servicing is needed.
ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM LIGHT
When operating normally, this light should glow briefly when ignition switch is turned to the ON position and go out after engine starts. If the light illuminates after the engine has started, have the anti-lock brake system serviced as soon as possible.
BATTERY VOLTAGE GAUGE
Gauge should register in the NORMAL range during operation. If lighted segments drop below or rise above the NORMAL range during regular driving, the top Red bar flashes to indicate service is needed.
ENGINE OIL PRESSURE GAUGE
Under normal operating conditions, gauge should register in the NORMAL range. If gauge drops below NORMAL operating band, stop immediately and check the oil level. DO NOT operate vehicle if gauge continues to read below normal operating range.
ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE GAUGE
Gauge should register in NORMAL band under regular operating conditions. If gauge rises into the Red area (HOT range), stop the vehicle, let the engine cool and check the coolant level.
LOW OIL LIGHT (IF EQUIPPED)
The LOW OIL warning light, located on the optional Vehicle Maintenance Monitor (VMM) overhead display, indicates a low engine oil level. When functioning correctly, the light illuminates briefly when ignition switch is turned to the ON position and goes out after engine starts. If light remains on when running, check the oil level.
COOLANT LIGHT (IF EQUIPPED)
The COOLANT light, located on the optional VMM overhead display, indicates that the engine coolant level is low. If the coolant light glows during normal operation, stop the vehicle, let the engine cool and check the coolant level.
SERVICE LIGHT (IF EQUIPPED)
Approximately every 7500 miles after reset, this light on the overhead display or on the system scanner, will glow for 3 minutes every time engine is started to remind operator of regular servicing. To reset service interval, depress service reset button on speed alarm keyboard, located either in center of dashboard or on overhead display. Hold button until 3 tones are heard.
SYSTEM SCANNER IN ELECTRONIC CLUSTER
The system scanner monitors several vehicle systems and will display condition and sound a tone when such condition(s) arise. Follow normal procedures for each particular condition.
