- If equipped, remove the 4 nuts and the strut tower cross brace. To install, tighten to 35 Nm (26 lb-ft).
- Remove the engine appearance cover. All vehicles
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY, BATTERY MOUNTING SYSTEM & BATTERY CABLES»(ref-439815) article.
- Disconnect the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister purge valve electrical connector.
- Disconnect the vapor tube-to- EVAP canister purge valve quick connect coupling. For additional information, refer to «FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION»(ref-439829) article.
- Remove the 2 bolts and the EVAP canister purge valve. To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- To install, reverse the removal procedure. Carry out the Evaporative Emission System Leak Test. For additional information, refer to «EVAPORATIVE EMISSION SYSTEM LEAK TEST»(ref-439833-S13765298332011120900000) in this service information.

- Remove the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister. For additional information, refer to «EVAPORATIVE EMISSION CANISTER»(ref-439833-S08614659832011120900000) in this service information.
- Disconnect the EVAP canister vent solenoid electrical connector.
- Remove and discard the 3 EVAP canister nuts and 3 bolts. To install, tighten the new nuts and bolts to 7 Nm (62 lb-in).
- Separate the EVAP canister and tray to access the EVAP canister vent solenoid.
- Depress the locking tab outward, rotate the EVAP canister vent solenoid clockwise and remove it from the EVAP canister.

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to «JACKING & LIFTING»(ref-439777) article.
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY, BATTERY MOUNTING SYSTEM & BATTERY CABLES»(ref-439815) article. Coupe vehicles
- Detach the fuel vapor tube retainer clip from the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister tray. Convertible vehicles
- Detach the 2 fuel vapor tube retainer clips from the rear body.
- Detach the 2 fresh air hose retainer clips from the rear body. All vehicles
- Disconnect the EVAP canister electrical connector and detach the wiring harness retainer from the EVAP canister tray.
- Disconnect the 2 fuel vapor tube quick connect couplings from the EVAP canister. For additional information, refer to «FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION»(ref-439829) article.
- Detach the fresh air hose from the 2 retainer clips.
- Remove the 2 EVAP canister assembly bolts.
- Remove the 2 nuts and the EVAP canister assembly.
- If the original EVAP canister assembly will be reinstalled, remove and discard any damaged tinnerman washers from the EVAP canister tray flange.
Installation
All vehicles
- If necessary, install new tinnerman washers onto the EVAP canister tray flange.
- Install the EVAP canister assembly and the 2 nuts. Tighten to 7 Nm (62 lb-in).
- Install the 2 EVAP canister assembly bolts. Tighten to 7 Nm (62 lb-in).
- Align the colored band on the fresh air hose with the retainer clip and attach the hose. Attach the fresh air hose to the remaining retainer clip.
- Connect the 2 fuel vapor tube quick connect couplings to the EVAP canister. For additional information, refer to «FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION»(ref-439829) article.
- Connect the EVAP canister electrical connector and attach the wiring harness retainer to the EVAP canister tray. Convertible vehicles
- Attach the 2 fresh air hose retainer clips to the rear body.
- Attach the 2 fuel vapor tube retainer clips to the rear body. Coupe vehicles
- Attach the fuel vapor tube retainer clip to the EVAP canister tray. All vehicles

- Disconnect the fuel vapor tube assembly-to-fuel tank quick connect coupling. For additional information, refer to «FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION»(ref-439829) article.
- Disconnect the fuel vapor tube assembly-to-fuel tank filler pipe recirculation tube quick connect coupling. For additional information, refer to «FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION»(ref-439829) article.
- Release the fuel vapor tube assembly separator clips.
- Detach the fresh air hose from the 2 retainer clips.
- Disconnect the Fuel Tank Pressure (FTP) sensor electrical connector.
- Detach the fuel vapor tube assembly retainer clip from the rear body.
- Remove the bolt and the fuel vapor tube assembly.
- Install the fuel vapor tube assembly and the bolt. Tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).
- Attach the fuel vapor tube assembly retainer clip to the rear body.
- Connect the FTP sensor electrical connector.
- Align the colored band on the fresh air hose with the retainer clip and attach the hose. Attach the fresh air hose to the remaining retainer clip.
- Attach the fuel vapor tube assembly separator clips.
- Connect the fuel vapor tube assembly-to-fuel tank filler pipe recirculation tube quick connect coupling. For additional information, refer to «FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION»(ref-439829) article.
- Connect the fuel vapor tube assembly-to-fuel tank quick connect coupling. For additional information, refer to «FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION»(ref-439829) article.
- Connect the fuel vapor tube assembly-to- EVAP canister vapor tube quick connect coupling. For additional information, refer to «FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION»(ref-439829) article.
- Attach the fuel vapor tube assembly to the retainer clip.
- Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY, BATTERY MOUNTING SYSTEM & BATTERY CABLES»(ref-439815) article.
