Removal and Installation

1. NOTE: The Brake Shift Interlock Actuator (BSIA) is not serviced separately. If a new BSIA is required, install a new transmission selector lever assembly. For additional information, refer to «SELECTOR LEVER»(ref-574162-S15749856822013082300000) .

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to «JACKING & LIFTING»(ref-574118) .
2. Discard the specified component. Follow local disposal regulations.
3. Interior trim remover.

1. Tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
2. Adjust the selector lever cable when a new selector lever is installed. Refer to «SELECTOR LEVER CABLE ADJUSTMENT»(ref-574162-S08633323882013082300000) .

1. NOTE: The SelectShift ™ switch is part of the selector lever knob. To install a new SelectShift ™ switch, a new selector lever knob must be installed. Remove the selector lever. Refer to «SELECTOR LEVER»(ref-574162-S15749856822013082300000) .
2. Interior trim remover.

1. NOTE: Keep the SelectShift™ switch wire taught while installing the selector lever knob. Position the SelectShift™ switch wire towards the back right corner of the selector knob shroud. Route the SelectShift™ switch wire through the selector lever opening.
2. NOTE: Tightening the transmission selector lever knob screws over 2 Nm (18 lb-in) may damage the selector lever assembly. Tighten to 2 Nm (18 lb-in).
3. NOTE: Make sure the SelectShift™ switch wire is pulled taught prior to connecting the SelectShift™ switch.
4. Install the selector lever. Refer to «SELECTOR LEVER»(ref-574162-S15749856822013082300000) .
