CLUTCH PACK PRELOAD

1. With side gears removed from differential case, mount one side gear onto Differential Clutch Gauge (T80P-4946). (Scheme 12)
2. Assemble clean clutch pack onto side gear without shims. If using new clutch pack, lubricate with Ford Friction Modifier (F3TZ-19B546-MA) before installing onto gauge base.
3. Install differential clutch gauge cover onto side gear clutch pack. Tighten gauge cover to 60 INCH lbs. (6.7 N.m).
4. Using a feeler gauge, select thickest blade that will fit between gauge and clutch pack. Blade thickness is the required shim thickness. Repeat procedure for remaining side gear.
