Module Communications Network System: Removal & Installation Ford Mustang IV рестайлинг

Programmable Module Installation

Programmable Module Installation (PMI) method is used when a new programmable module is installed. NGS tester automatically obtains any valuable module option content information from old module during vehicle ID routine that runs when NGS tester is initially connected to vehicle. It is important to connect NGS tester to DLC and allow it to identify the vehicle and obtain configuration data prior to removing any module.

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

CAUTIONElectronic modules are sensitive to static electrical charges. Proper grounding of technician and workplace is essential to prevent damage. Prior to removal of modules, it is necessary to upload module configuration information to New Generation Star (NGS) tester. This information needs to be downloaded into new module once installed. See MODULE CONFIGURATION under PROGRAMMING.

Note. When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.

ABS control module and Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) are a complete assembly. For replacement procedure of ABS control module, see appropriate ANTI-LOCK article in BRAKES.

Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect Generic Electronic Module (GEM) harness connectors. (Схема №8) Release GEM locking tab. Slide GEM off mounting bracket. To install, reverse removal procedure.

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Pull out headlight switch knob. Insert thin-blade tool into slot of headlight switch knob. Remove headlight switch knob from headlight switch shaft. Remove 2 upper retaining screws from instrument cluster finish panel. Remove instrument cluster finish panel.
  2. Remove 4 instrument cluster retaining screws. Pull instrument cluster away from instrument panel. Disconnect instrument cluster harness connectors. Remove instrument cluster. To install, reverse removal procedure.

For replacement procedure of Restraint Control Module (RCM), see appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article.
