Scheme 4: Removal
  1. Refer to: «QUICK RELEASE COUPLING»(ref-658906-S19526040892014092900000) . Torque : 44 lb.in (5 Nm) Torque : 44 lb.in (5 Nm)
  2. 2. NOTE: If equipped with a sliding cover over the locking tab, then slide the cover back to gain access to the tab. Depress the locking tab on the ignition coil-on-plug electrical connector, and disconnect the electrical connector from the ignition coil-on-plug.
  3. NOTE: Use compressed air to remove any foreign material from the ignition coil-on-plugs and surrounding area before removing the ignition coil-on-plugs. NOTE: When removing the ignition coil-on-plugs, a slight twisting motion will break the seal and ease removal. NOTE: When installing, apply a small amount of silicone brake caliper grease and dielectric compound to the inside of the ignition coil-on-plug boots before installation. Torque : 71 lb.in (8 Nm) Material : Silicone Brake Caliper Grease and Dielectric Compound/XG-3-A (ESE-M1C171-A)
  4. Replace any ignition coil-on-plug rubber boots with cracks, rips or tears.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Scheme 5: Removal
  1. Refer to: «IGNITION COIL-ON-PLUG»(ref-658907-S27857495202014092900000) .
  2. NOTE: Do not remove the spark plugs when the engine is hot or cold soaked. Spark plug thread or cylinder head damage can occur. Make sure the engine is warm (hand touch after cooling down) prior to spark plug removal. NOTE: If a spark plug is dropped, internal damage may result and the spark plug must be discarded. The use of a damaged spark plug may cause cylinder misfire resulting in engine damage. NOTE: Use compressed air to remove any foreign material in the spark plug well before removing the spark plugs. Torque : 106 lb.in (12 Nm)
  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
