REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

  1. Remove the 2 nuts, the bolt and the generator air inlet duct. To install, tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).
  2. Disconnect the 4 ignition coil-on-plug electrical connectors.
  3. Remove the 4 bolts and the ignition coil-on-plugs. To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
  4. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Apply a small amount of dielectric grease to the inside of the ignition coil-on-plug boots before attaching to the spark plugs.

REMOVAL

  1. Remove the 2 nuts, the bolt and the generator air inlet duct.
  2. Disconnect the 4 ignition coil-on-plug electrical connectors.
  3. Remove the 4 bolts and the ignition coil-on-plugs.
  4. Remove the 4 spark plugs.

INSTALLATION

  1. Inspect the spark plugs. Item Part Number Description 1 - Deposits bridging spark plug gap 2 - Wet black deposits (oil fouling) 3 - Dry black deposits (carbon fouling) 4 - Normal spark plug 5 - Pre-ignition 6 - Overheating 7 - Fused spot deposits
  2. Adjust the spark plug gap as necessary.
  3. Install the spark plugs. Tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).
  4. Install the 4 ignition coils and bolts. Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
  5. Connect the 4 ignition coil electrical connectors.
  6. Install the generator air inlet duct and the 2 nuts and the bolt. Tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).
