Inspection and Verification
- Verify the customer concern.
- Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical or electrical damage. VISUAL INSPECTION CHART Mechanical Electrical Clock Smart junction box (SJB) fuse 7 (7.5A) Circuitry
- If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause before proceeding to the next step.
- If the fault is not visually evident, verify the symptom and GO to «SYMPTOM CHART»(/ford/five-hundred/i-2004-2007/remont/gauges-instrument-panels/#message-center-clock__symptom-chart) .

- A1 CHECK CIRCUIT 483 (RD) FOR AN OPEN Key in OFF position. Disconnect: Clock C2016. Measure the voltage between the clock C2016-6, circuit 483 (RD), harness side and ground. Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? Yes : GO to A2. No : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
- A2 CHECK CIRCUIT 1205 (BK) FOR AN OPEN Measure the resistance between the clock C2016-3, circuit 1205 (BK), harness side and ground. Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? Yes : INSTALL a new clock. REFER to «CLOCK»(/ford/five-hundred/i-2004-2007/remont/gauges-instrument-panels/#message-center-clock) . TEST the system for normal operation. No : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
