Removal

1. Remove the wiper pivot arm nut cover.
2. Remove the wiper pivot arm nut.
3. Using a suitable 2 jaw puller, remove the wiper pivot arm.

1. Using a wire brush, clean the wiper pivot arm shaft.
2. Cycle and park the windshield wipers.
3. Install the wiper pivot arm.
4. Align the RH and LH windshield wiper blades to the alignment marks on the windshield glass.
5. Install the 2 wiper pivot arm nuts. Tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).
6. Install the wiper pivot arm nut cover.

1. Remove the cowl panel. REFER to «COWL PANEL»(ref-517609-S10800986242012121200000) .
2. Remove the 2 wiper mounting arm and wiper pivot shaft bolts.
3. Disconnect the wiper motor electrical connector.
4. Remove the wiper mounting arm and wiper pivot shaft.

Installation

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

1. Remove the wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft. REFER to «Wiper Mounting Arm and Pivot Shaft»(ref-517620-S19924104072012121200000) .
2. Using a flat-blade screwdriver or a suitable tool at the location shown in illustration, separate the wiper motor linkage arm from the wiper pivot arm linkage.
3. Remove the 4 wiper motor bolts and the wiper motor. To install, tighten to 18 Nm (159 lb-in).

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

1. Remove the rear wiper pivot arm. REFER to «Wiper Pivot Arm - Rear»(ref-517620-S20426057572012121200000) .
2. Remove the liftgate trim panel. REFER to «LIFTGATE TRIM PANEL»(ref-517611-S15636657292012121200000) .
3. Remove the 3 rear window wiper motor assembly bolts. To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
4. Disconnect the rear window wiper motor electrical connector and remove the rear window wiper motor.

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Note. Lifting the wiper arm beyond its maximum angle may result in damage to the wiper arm or the wiper arm heel.

Note. Allowing the wiper arm to contact the glass may result in damage to the glass.

1. Remove the rear wiper blade. Using one hand, hold the rear wiper blade against the rear liftgate glass. Using the other hand, pull the rear wiper pivot arm away from the rear wiper blade.

1. Attach the new wiper blade on the wiper arm and press it into place until a snap is heard.

1. Open the wiper pivot arm nut cover.
2. Remove the wiper pivot arm nut.
3. NOTE: A suitable 2 jaw puller may be necessary to remove the wiper pivot arm. Remove the wiper pivot arm.

1. Cycle and park the rear window wiper.
2. Install the wiper pivot arm.
3. Verify the rear wiper blade is positioned at the first defroster line located on the rear window glass.
4. Install the wiper pivot arm nut, tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
5. Close the wiper pivot arm nut cover.

Note. When installing a new washer pump, be careful not to damage the rubber grommet.

Note. To prevent spilling washer fluid, drain the washer reservoir before washer pump removal.

1. Remove the RF fender splash shield. REFER to «FENDER SPLASH SHIELD»(ref-517609-S36660239832012121200000) .
2. NOTE: Front bumper removed for clarity. Disconnect the washer pump electrical connector.
3. NOTE: Front bumper removed for clarity. Disconnect the washer hoses.
4. NOTE: Front bumper removed for clarity. Remove the washer pump.

1. NOTE: Do not operate the washer pump prior to filling the washer reservoir. Failure to follow this instruction may result in premature pump failure. NOTE: When installing a new washer pump, be careful not to damage the rubber grommet. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Fill the washer reservoir with windshield washer fluid.

Note. To prevent spilling washer fluid, drain the washer reservoir before removal.

1. Remove the washer reservoir cap from the washer reservoir.
2. Remove the RF fender splash shield. REFER to «FENDER SPLASH SHIELD»(ref-517609-S36660239832012121200000) .
3. NOTE: Front bumper cover removed for clarity. Disconnect the washer pump and washer level sensor electrical connectors and disconnect the wire pin-type retainer from the washer reservoir.
4. NOTE: Front bumper cover removed for clarity. Disconnect the washer pump hoses.
5. NOTE: Front bumper cover removed for clarity. Remove the 2 washer reservoir nuts and the washer reservoir bolt. To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
6. NOTE: Front bumper cover removed for clarity. Pull the washer reservoir off of the studs and remove the washer reservoir through the RF wheel well.

Note. Do not operate the washer pump prior to filling the washer reservoir. Failure to follow this instruction may result in premature pump failure.

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Fill the washer reservoir with washer fluid.

1. NOTE: Glass must be clean and dry. Clean the specified component with the specified material.
2. NOTE: If rain sensor gel is damaged or contaminated a new sensor must be installed. If installing original rain sensor, visual check.

1. The rain sensor bracket is not removed for service. Installation of a new rain sensor bracket is required only after the original bracket has become detached from the windshield.

Note. The rain sensor bracket primer and adhesive are not included in service kit (part number 19G382) and will have to be ordered separately. The rain sensor bracket primer and adhesive part numbers and ordering instructions are available in the parts ordering system.

Note. The rain sensor bracket adhesive will take at least 6 hours to dry.

1. Disconnect the rain sensor electrical connector.
2. Using a razor blade, carefully remove any residual glue from the windshield glass.
3. Using isopropyl alcohol and a clean cloth, wipe the windshield glass where the bracket and rain sensor module were mounted to remove any residual adhesive, contaminants, or loose glue particles.
4. Wipe glass with a clean cloth to ensure the glass is clean and dry.
5. Apply specified primer onto a clean cloth.
6. Insert a cotton swab, or equivalent, onto the wet area of the cloth.
7. NOTE: Do not apply primer to the rain sensor view window area. NOTE: Discard the old rain sensor bracket. DO NOT REUSE. Using the cotton swab, or equivalent, apply the primer onto the contact area of the rain sensor mounting bracket area of the windshield glass.
8. NOTE: Apply the adhesive to the outer periphery of the bracket mounting surface to prevent adhesive squeeze out toward the sensor viewing window. Remove release paper from the new bracket. Using a 3M® EPX Plus II applicator or equivalent, apply a 1 to 2 mm (0.039 in to 0.078 in) bead of specified adhesive to the rain sensor mounting bracket. Apply the bracket to the windshield within 90 seconds of applying adhesive to the bracket. Adhesive path should terminate 2 mm (0.078 in) prior to running into the 3 adhesive tape pieces. Remove the protective paper from the adhesive tape pieces.
9. NOTE: If the rain sensor mounting bracket is not mounted in the correct location on the windshield glass the rain sensor may not function correctly, resulting in incorrect or erratic wiping. In addition, the trim cover may be misaligned once installed. Apply the rain sensor mounting bracket onto the windshield making sure the open end of the bracket is facing the 12 o'clock position and that the bracket is centered around the rain sensor view window area.
10. Allow the adhesive to dry for at least 6 hours.
11. Remove the old mounting bracket from the sensor module by disengaging the metal clips from the bracket.
12. NOTE: Prior to re-installing the sensor to the windshield bracket, make sure the sensor viewing window is clean, no oil or dust are present and the sensor lens gel pad is not damaged or contaminated. The lens is serviced with rain sensor. Place the sensor on the windshield bracket orientating the electrical connector in the 12 o'clock position. Press the metal clips to engage the clips to the mounting bracket.
13. Connect the rain sensor electrical connector.
14. Validate normal operation of the rain sensing wipers by starting the vehicle and emptying a glass of water across the rain sensor path. This will trigger a wipe cycle.
15. Install the rain sensor cover.

1. Remove the upper and lower steering column shrouds. REFER to «STEERING COLUMN SHROUD»(ref-517558-S19607757902012121200000) .
2. Position the steering wheel in order to gain access to the wiper/washer switch screws.
3. Remove the 2 wiper/washer switch screws.
4. Remove the wiper/washer switch.

1. Install the wiper/washer switch onto the SCCM.
2. Install and tighten the wiper/washer switch screws.
3. Install the upper and lower steering column shrouds. REFER to «STEERING COLUMN SHROUD»(ref-517558-S19607757902012121200000) .
