Removal

  1. Detach the hose retainer and disconnect the 2 vapor tube quick connect couplings. REFER to «DISCONNECT - TYPE 1»(ref-517564-S27800333092012121200000) , or «DISCONNECT - TYPE 2»(ref-517564-S04936428772012121200000) , or «DISCONNECT - TYPE 5»(ref-517564-S39135035252012121200000) .
  2. Detach the hose retainer and disconnect the vapor tube quick connect coupling. REFER to «DISCONNECT - TYPE 1»(ref-517564-S27800333092012121200000) , or «DISCONNECT - TYPE 2»(ref-517564-S04936428772012121200000) , or «DISCONNECT - TYPE 5»(ref-517564-S39135035252012121200000) .
  3. Disconnect the purge valve electrical connector and the vapor quick connect coupling and remove fastener. REFER to «DISCONNECT - TYPE 1»(ref-517564-S27800333092012121200000) , or «DISCONNECT - TYPE 2»(ref-517564-S04936428772012121200000) , or «DISCONNECT - TYPE 5»(ref-517564-S39135035252012121200000) . To install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).
  4. Remove the canister purge valve assembly.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. REFER to «BATTERY DISCONNECT»(ref-517589-S39248827582012121200000) .
  2. Disconnect the vapor tube quick connect coupling. REFER to «QUICK CONNECT COUPLING»(ref-517564-S07557795332012121200000) ..
  3. Disconnect the EVAP canister purge valve electrical connector.
  4. Remove the bolts and the canister purge valve.

  1. Install the canister purge valve and the 2 bolts. Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
  2. Connect the EVAP canister purge valve electrical connector.
  3. Connect the vapor tube quick connect coupling. REFER to «QUICK CONNECT COUPLING»(ref-517564-S07557795332012121200000) ..
  4. Connect the battery ground cable. REFER to «BATTERY DISCONNECT»(ref-517589-S39248827582012121200000) .

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. REFER to «JACKING AND LIFTING»(ref-517532-S17733021342012121200000) for lifting points.
  2. Disconnect the battery ground cable. REFER to «BATTERY DISCONNECT»(ref-517589-S39248827582012121200000) .
  3. NOTE: Clean the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister vent solenoid electrical connector and the immediate surrounding area of any dirt or foreign material. Disconnect the EVAP canister vent solenoid electrical connector.
  4. Disconnect the fuel vapor tube-to-EVAP canister quick connect coupling. REFER to «QUICK CONNECT COUPLING»(ref-517564-S07557795332012121200000) ..
  5. Disconnect the fuel vapor tube assembly-to-EVAP canister quick connect coupling. REFER to «QUICK CONNECT COUPLING»(ref-517564-S07557795332012121200000) ..
  6. Disconnect the dust separator fresh air hose.
  7. Remove the 5 nuts and the EVAP canister.

  1. Install the EVAP canister and the 5 nuts. Tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
  2. Connect the dust separator fresh air hose.
  3. Connect the fuel vapor tube assembly-to-EVAP canister quick connect coupling. REFER to «QUICK CONNECT COUPLING»(ref-517564-S07557795332012121200000) ..
  4. Connect the fuel vapor tube-to-EVAP canister quick connect coupling. REFER to «QUICK CONNECT COUPLING»(ref-517564-S07557795332012121200000) .
  5. Connect the EVAP canister vent solenoid electrical connector.
  6. Connect the battery ground cable. REFER to «BATTERY DISCONNECT»(ref-517589-S39248827582012121200000) .
  7. Carry out the Evaporative Emission System Leak Test. REFER to «Evaporative Emission System Leak Test»(ref-517574-S37129282772012121200000) .

Scheme 124: Removal
  1. Remove the EVAP canister. REFER to «Evaporative Emission Canister»(ref-517574-S00789737642012121200000) .
  2. Release the 3 retaining tabs and remove the dust separator.
  1. Install the dust separator onto the EVAP canister. Verify the dust separator is engaged in the 3 retaining tabs.
  2. Install the EVAP canister. REFER to «Evaporative Emission Canister»(ref-517574-S00789737642012121200000) .
  1. The EVAP canister vent solenoid is serviced with the dust separator. REFER to «Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System Components - Exploded View»(ref-517574-S41425469882012121200000) and REFER to «Dust Separator»(ref-517574-S41180087302012121200000) .
  1. The EVAP canister vent solenoid is serviced with the dust separator. REFER to «Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System Components - Exploded View»(ref-517574-S41425469882012121200000) and «Dust Separator»(ref-517574-S41180087302012121200000) .
  1. Remove the fuel tank. REFER to «FUEL TANK»(ref-517579-S40454562052012121200000) .
  2. Disconnect the FTP sensor electrical connector.
  3. Disconnect the fuel vapor tube assembly-to-fuel vapor valve quick connect coupling. REFER to «QUICK CONNECT COUPLING»(ref-517564-S07557795332012121200000) ..
  4. Disconnect the fuel vapor tube assembly-to-fuel level sensor quick connect coupling. REFER to «QUICK CONNECT COUPLING»(ref-517564-S07557795332012121200000) .
  5. Release the 4 retainer clips and remove the fuel vapor tube assembly.
  1. Install the fuel vapor tube assembly into the 4 retainer clips.
  2. Connect the fuel vapor tube assembly-to-fuel level sensor quick connect coupling. REFER to «QUICK CONNECT COUPLING»(ref-517564-S07557795332012121200000) ..
  3. Connect the fuel vapor tube assembly-to-fuel vapor valve quick connect coupling. REFER to «QUICK CONNECT COUPLING»(ref-517564-S07557795332012121200000) ..
  4. Connect the FTP sensor electrical connector.
  5. Install the fuel tank. REFER to «FUEL TANK»(ref-517579-S40454562052012121200000) .
  6. Carry out the Evaporative Emission System Leak Test. REFER to «Evaporative Emission System Leak Test»(ref-517574-S37129282772012121200000) .
