- Detach the hose retainer and disconnect the 2 vapor tube quick connect couplings. REFER to «DISCONNECT - TYPE 1»(ref-517564-S27800333092012121200000) , or «DISCONNECT - TYPE 2»(ref-517564-S04936428772012121200000) , or «DISCONNECT - TYPE 5»(ref-517564-S39135035252012121200000) .
- Detach the hose retainer and disconnect the vapor tube quick connect coupling. REFER to «DISCONNECT - TYPE 1»(ref-517564-S27800333092012121200000) , or «DISCONNECT - TYPE 2»(ref-517564-S04936428772012121200000) , or «DISCONNECT - TYPE 5»(ref-517564-S39135035252012121200000) .
- Disconnect the purge valve electrical connector and the vapor quick connect coupling and remove fastener. REFER to «DISCONNECT - TYPE 1»(ref-517564-S27800333092012121200000) , or «DISCONNECT - TYPE 2»(ref-517564-S04936428772012121200000) , or «DISCONNECT - TYPE 5»(ref-517564-S39135035252012121200000) . To install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).
- Remove the canister purge valve assembly.
Installation
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.

- Disconnect the vapor tube quick connect coupling. REFER to «QUICK CONNECT COUPLING»(ref-517564-S07557795332012121200000) ..
- Disconnect the EVAP canister purge valve electrical connector.
- Remove the bolts and the canister purge valve.

- Install the canister purge valve and the 2 bolts. Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- Connect the EVAP canister purge valve electrical connector.
- Connect the vapor tube quick connect coupling. REFER to «QUICK CONNECT COUPLING»(ref-517564-S07557795332012121200000) ..
- Connect the battery ground cable. REFER to «BATTERY DISCONNECT»(ref-517589-S39248827582012121200000) .

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. REFER to «JACKING AND LIFTING»(ref-517532-S17733021342012121200000) for lifting points.
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. REFER to «BATTERY DISCONNECT»(ref-517589-S39248827582012121200000) .
- NOTE: Clean the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister vent solenoid electrical connector and the immediate surrounding area of any dirt or foreign material. Disconnect the EVAP canister vent solenoid electrical connector.
- Disconnect the fuel vapor tube-to-EVAP canister quick connect coupling. REFER to «QUICK CONNECT COUPLING»(ref-517564-S07557795332012121200000) ..
- Disconnect the fuel vapor tube assembly-to-EVAP canister quick connect coupling. REFER to «QUICK CONNECT COUPLING»(ref-517564-S07557795332012121200000) ..
- Disconnect the dust separator fresh air hose.
- Remove the 5 nuts and the EVAP canister.

- Install the EVAP canister and the 5 nuts. Tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
- Connect the dust separator fresh air hose.
- Connect the fuel vapor tube assembly-to-EVAP canister quick connect coupling. REFER to «QUICK CONNECT COUPLING»(ref-517564-S07557795332012121200000) ..
- Connect the fuel vapor tube-to-EVAP canister quick connect coupling. REFER to «QUICK CONNECT COUPLING»(ref-517564-S07557795332012121200000) .
- Connect the EVAP canister vent solenoid electrical connector.
- Connect the battery ground cable. REFER to «BATTERY DISCONNECT»(ref-517589-S39248827582012121200000) .
- Carry out the Evaporative Emission System Leak Test. REFER to «Evaporative Emission System Leak Test»(ref-517574-S37129282772012121200000) .
Scheme 124
- Remove the EVAP canister. REFER to «Evaporative Emission Canister»(ref-517574-S00789737642012121200000) .
- Release the 3 retaining tabs and remove the dust separator.
- Install the dust separator onto the EVAP canister. Verify the dust separator is engaged in the 3 retaining tabs.
- Install the EVAP canister. REFER to «Evaporative Emission Canister»(ref-517574-S00789737642012121200000) .
- The EVAP canister vent solenoid is serviced with the dust separator. REFER to «Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System Components - Exploded View»(ref-517574-S41425469882012121200000) and REFER to «Dust Separator»(ref-517574-S41180087302012121200000) .
- The EVAP canister vent solenoid is serviced with the dust separator. REFER to «Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System Components - Exploded View»(ref-517574-S41425469882012121200000) and «Dust Separator»(ref-517574-S41180087302012121200000) .
- Remove the fuel tank. REFER to «FUEL TANK»(ref-517579-S40454562052012121200000) .
- Disconnect the FTP sensor electrical connector.
- Disconnect the fuel vapor tube assembly-to-fuel vapor valve quick connect coupling. REFER to «QUICK CONNECT COUPLING»(ref-517564-S07557795332012121200000) ..
- Disconnect the fuel vapor tube assembly-to-fuel level sensor quick connect coupling. REFER to «QUICK CONNECT COUPLING»(ref-517564-S07557795332012121200000) .
- Release the 4 retainer clips and remove the fuel vapor tube assembly.
- Install the fuel vapor tube assembly into the 4 retainer clips.
- Connect the fuel vapor tube assembly-to-fuel level sensor quick connect coupling. REFER to «QUICK CONNECT COUPLING»(ref-517564-S07557795332012121200000) ..
- Connect the fuel vapor tube assembly-to-fuel vapor valve quick connect coupling. REFER to «QUICK CONNECT COUPLING»(ref-517564-S07557795332012121200000) ..
- Connect the FTP sensor electrical connector.
- Install the fuel tank. REFER to «FUEL TANK»(ref-517579-S40454562052012121200000) .
- Carry out the Evaporative Emission System Leak Test. REFER to «Evaporative Emission System Leak Test»(ref-517574-S37129282772012121200000) .
