Parking Aid: Removal & Installation Ford Explorer IV

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

  1. Disconnect the parking aid module bumper harness from the body harness.
  2. Remove the rear bumper cover. For additional information, refer to «BUMPERS»(ref-270925) .
  3. Remove the 4 insulator-to-bumper cover nuts and the insulator from the bumper cover.
  4. Disconnect the parking aid module bumper harness from the parking aid module.
  5. Remove the 2 parking aid module bracket bolts.
  6. Remove the parking module bracket assembly.
  7. Release the module tabs from the bracket and remove the module.
  8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

  1. For Mountaineer, remove the RH quarter trim panel. For additional information, refer to «INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION»(ref-270927) .
  2. For Explorer Sport Trac, remove the cab rear trim panel. For additional information, refer to «INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION»(ref-270927) .
  3. For Mountaineer, if replacing the parking aid speaker only, proceed as follows: Disconnect the parking aid speaker electrical connector. Remove the parking aid speaker push pins. Remove the parking aid speaker.
  4. For Explorer Sport Trac, if replacing the parking aid speaker only, proceed as follows: Disconnect the parking aid speaker electrical connector. Disengage the parking aid speaker clips. Remove the parking aid speaker.
  5. For all vehicles, if replacing the parking aid module, proceed as follows: Disconnect the electrical connectors. Remove the parking aid module screw. Remove the parking aid module.
  6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

  2. Disconnect the parking aid sensor(s) electrical connector(s).
  3. Press the retaining tabs and remove the parking aid sensor(s).
  4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

  2. Remove the bolt and the speaker and bracket assembly. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  3. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
