Adjustable Pedal Operation
The adjustable pedals with or without memory feature are operational with the ignition switch in the ON or OFF position. The pedals can be adjusted forward or rearward using the adjustable pedal switch.
Memory Adjustable Pedal Operation
The adjustable pedals with memory feature can be controlled by using the memory switches or the remote keyless entry (RKE) transmitter. The outside rearview mirror and power driver seat positions are also stored and recalled with the power adjustable pedal positions. The system can store 3 memory settings.

Normal Operation
The switch for the non-memory adjustable pedals system uses a 2-way motor to rotate cables that move the brake and accelerator pedal toward or away from the driver. The adjustable pedals switch receives fused battery voltage from the smart junction box (SJB) fuse 1 (20A) circuit SBP01 (RD) at all times. The switch is grounded through circuit GD138 (BK/WH). When the adjustable pedals switch is pressed in the forward or rearward position, voltage flows through circuit CPP09 (VT/OG) (forward) or circuit CPP10 (BN/BU) (rearward) to the adjustable pedals motor.
Possible Causes
- Fuse
- Circuit open
- Circuit shorted
- Adjustable pedals switch
- Adjustable pedals obstruction
- Adjustable pedal cable(s)
- Adjustable pedals motor assembly
The adjustable pedal memory function utilizes a Hall-effect position sensor. The driver seat module (DSM) supplies a signal feed circuit to the position sensor and a reference signal return circuit. Each position sensor sends a signal voltage back to the DSM used to monitor the position of the adjustable pedals. The signal voltage from the adjustable pedal Hall-effect sensor to the DSM provides an indication to the DSM of whether or not the adjustable pedal motor is stalled. When the driver sets a pedal position in the DSM, it stores the value of where the adjustable pedals are located using a time frame of motor operation. When the driver requests a return to a pedal position in memory, the DSM operates the adjustable pedal motor until the adjustable pedals output matches the time frame stored in memory. If the memory function is not utilized, the adjustable pedal switch can also be used for normal operation of the adjustable pedals system. The DSM receives a voltage reference on circuits CPP10 (BN/BU) (rearward) and CPP09 (VT/OG) (forward) from the adjustable pedals switch. The DSM interprets this and then operates the adjustable pedals in the commanded direction.
Possible Causes
- Fuse
- Circuit shorted
- Circuit open
- Memory SET switch
- Adjustable pedal switch
- Adjustable pedal motor
- Driver seat module (DSM)
The memory SET switch activates the memory SET switch light emitting diode (LED). Within 5 seconds (before the LED goes out), the driver must select a memory position. Memory 1 is selected by depressing memory switch 1. Memory 2 is selected by depressing memory switch 2. If no memory switch input is received within the 5-second time limit, the operation is aborted and the memory SET switch LED is turned OFF.
Possible Causes
- Circuit shorted
- DSM
