ONE POWER WINDOW INOPERATIVE
Verify concern. Ensure battery is fully charged. Ensure window in question is properly aligned. Check for damaged guide or regulator mechanism. Check window motor. See POWER WINDOW MOTOR under COMPONENT TESTS. Check for open or shorted circuit. Check for faulty one-touch down relay, master window switch, passenger window switch, battery saver relay, instrument panel fuse block, and Generic Electronic Module (GEM). If concern remains after inspection, perform self-diagnostics. See SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM .
ONE-TOUCH DOWN FEATURE INOPERATIVE
Verify concern. Check for open or shorted circuit. Check for faulty one-touch down relay, master window switch, Generic Electronic Module (GEM), and instrument panel fuse block. If concern remains after inspection, perform self-diagnostics. See SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM .
WINDOW STUCK OR BINDING
Verify concern. Check for damaged window tracks, window regulator and window motor. If concern remains after inspection, perform self-diagnostics. See SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM .
MICRO RELAYS
- Remove relay. Measure resistance between relay terminal No. 2 and all other terminals. (Scheme 6) If any resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace relay. If all resistances are 5 ohms or more, go to next step.
- Attach jumper wire between battery positive terminal and relay terminal No. 3. Measure voltage between relay terminal No. 4 and ground. If battery voltage is not present, replace relay. If battery voltage is present, go to next step.
- Attach second jumper wire from battery positive terminal to relay terminal No. 1. Attach third jumper wire between relay terminal No. 2 and ground. Measure voltage between relay terminal No. 5 and ground. If battery voltage is not present, replace relay. If battery voltage is present, relay is okay
Scheme 6
MINI RELAYS
- Remove relay. Measure resistance between relay terminal No. 85 and all other terminals. (Scheme 7) If any resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace relay. If all resistances are more than 5 ohms, go to next step.
- Attach jumper wire between battery positive terminal and relay terminal No. 30. Measure voltage between relay terminal No. 87A and ground. If battery voltage is not present, replace relay. If battery voltage is present, go to next step.
- Attach second jumper wire from battery positive terminal to relay terminal No. 86. Attach third jumper wire between relay terminal No. 85 and ground. Measure voltage between relay terminal No. 87 and ground. If battery voltage is not present, replace relay. If battery voltage is present, relay is okay.

POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH
- Remove master switch. See «POWER WINDOW SWITCH»(ref-870-S33166130502000031300000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Check continuity between master window switch connector C509 terminals No. 1 and 2 in all switch positions. (Scheme 8) If there is continuity in any position, replace switch. If there is no continuity, go to next step.
- With master window switch at rest, check continuity between master window switch connector C509 terminals No. 1, 3, 4, 6 and 7. Check continuity between master window switch connector C510 terminals No. 4, 5, 6 and 7. If there is no continuity between any specified terminals, replace switch. If there is continuity between all specified terminals, go to next step.
- Check continuity between appropriate master window switch connector and terminals with switch in appropriate position. See «MASTER SWITCH TESTING»(ref-870-S07512684402000031300000) table. If continuity is not as specified, replace switch.

POWER WINDOW MOTOR
Remove window motor from vehicle. See POWER WINDOW MOTOR under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Using fused jumper wires, connect a fully charged battery to motor terminals. Observe motor. Motor should operate smoothly. Reverse leads. Motor should operate in reverse direction. Replace window motor if it does not operate as specified.
POWER WINDOW SINGLE SWITCH
Remove suspect window switch. See POWER WINDOW SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Check continuity between appropriate terminals with switch in appropriate position. See SINGLE SWITCH TESTING table. (Scheme 9) If continuity is not as specified, replace switch.

SYSTEM TESTS
| WARNING | Deactivate air bag system before performing any service operation involving steering column components. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. Do not apply electrical power to any component on steering column without first deactivating air bag system. Air bag may deploy. |
| CAUTION | When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery. |
| CAUTION | Disconnect battery before disconnecting Generic Electronic Module (GEM). Failure to do so will result in GEM storing erroneous codes and may also result in erratic operation of GEM after reconnection. |
Note. Complete entire system test related to the symptom before installing GEM.
| Symptom | Perform Test |

| No Scan Tool Communication With GEM | A |
| All Power Windows Inoperative | B |
| Single Window Inoperative (All Other Windows Operate) | C |
