  4. Open or shorted circuit.

Confirm concern. Check the following for possible cause of malfunction

  1. Faulty master switch. See «MASTER SWITCH»(ref-29238-S33731257572001010800000) under COMPONENT TESTING.
  2. Open or shorted circuit. Check circuits between master switch and single switch.

ALL POWER WINDOWS INOPERATIVE

  1. Fuse Check Ensure ignition is off. Check POWER WINDOW (30-amp) fuse. If fuse is blown, go to next step. If fuse is okay, go to step 3).
  2. Circuit Check Access and disconnect 16-pin master power window switch connector. Locate and disconnect 5-pin one-touch module connector. Measure resistance between output side of POWER WINDOW (30-amp) fuse at interior fuse junction panel connector and ground. If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is less than 10 k/ohms, repair Black/White wire.
  3. Check Power Supply Turn ignition off. Access and unplug 16-pin power window master switch connector. Measure voltage between power window master switch connector Black/White wire terminal and ground. If voltage is greater than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair Black/White wire. Retest system.
  4. Power Window Master Switch Check Perform master switch test. See «MASTER SWITCH»(ref-29238-S13192843362001010800000) under COMPONENT TESTING. If master switch is good, repair Black wire between power window master switch and ground. If master switch is faulty, replace switch and retest system.

ONE POWER WINDOW INOPERATIVE

  1. Check Window Operation Turn ignition off. Operate all windows from master switch. If all windows open and close properly, goto step 3). If all windows do not operate from master switch, go to next step.
  2. Check Master Switch Perform master switch test. See «MASTER SWITCH»(ref-29238-S13192843362001010800000) under COMPONENT TESTING. If master switch is faulty, replace master switch. If master switch is okay and left front window is inoperative, see ONE-TOUCH DOWN FEATURE INOPERATIVE test. If master switch is okay and any other window is inoperative, go to next step.
  3. Check Remote Operation Turn ignition off. Reconnect master switch harness connector. Turn ignition on. Press power window lock-out switch to POWER ON position (located on master switch assembly). Operate all passenger windows from the individual (not master) switches. If all windows operate, advise customer of lock-out switch. If right/front window does not operate, go to next step. If either rear window does not operate, go to step 7).
  4. Check Voltage To Right/Front Window Switch Turn ignition off. Unplug right front window switch connector. Turn ignition on. While operating right front window from driver's master switch to UP position, measure voltage between right front window switch connector terminal Green/Black wire and ground. While operating right front window from driver's master switch to DOWN position, measure voltage between right front window switch connector terminal Red/White wire and ground. If voltages are greater than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage of either wire is less than 10 volts, repair wire in question.
  5. Check Right Front Motor Circuits Turn ignition off. Measure resistance between right front power window switch connector White and Red wire terminals. Resistance should be less than 5 ohms. Measure resistance between ground and right front power window switch connector White wire, and Red wire individually. Resistances should be greater than 10 k/ohms. If all resistances are as specified, replace right front power window switch. If resistances are not as specified, go to next step.
  6. Check Right Front Window Motor Operation Perform power window motor test. See «POWER WINDOW MOTOR»(ref-29238-S22011809822001010800000) under COMPONENT TESTING. If left front power window motor is faulty, replace left front power window motor. If left front power window motor is okay, repair circuit(s) between right front power window switch and right front power window motor.
  7. Check Rear Window Switch Perform single switch test. See «SINGLE SWITCH»(ref-29238-S10282053872001010800000) under COMPONENT TESTING. If rear window switch is faulty, replace rear window switch. If rear window switch is okay, go to next step.
  8. Check Voltage To Rear Window Switch Turn ignition off. Unplug appropriate rear window switch connector. Turn ignition on. While operating appropriate rear window from driver's master switch to UP position, measure voltage between appropriate rear window switch connector terminal Blue/White wire and ground. While operating appropriate rear window from driver's master switch to DOWN position, measure voltage between rear window switch connector terminal Yellow/Green wire and ground. If voltages are greater than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage of either wire is less than 10 volts, repair wire in question.
  9. Check Rear Window Motor Operation Perform power window motor test. See «POWER WINDOW MOTOR»(ref-29238-S22011809822001010800000) under COMPONENT TESTING. If rear power window motor is faulty, replace rear power window motor. If rear power window motor is okay, repair circuit(s) between rear power window switch and rear power window motor.

ONE-TOUCH DOWN FEATURE INOPERATIVE

  1. Check One-Touch Down Module Circuits Turn ignition off. Access and disconnect 16-pin master window switch connector. Locate and disconnect 5-pin one-touch module connector. Measure resistance of Green, Red/Black and Black/White wires between master window switch connector and one-touch module connector. If resistances are less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance of any wire is greater than 5 ohms, repair wire in question.
  2. Check One-Touch Down Module Ground Circuit Measure resistance between one-touch down module 5-pin connector Black wire terminal and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open Black wire between one-touch module 5-pin connector and ground.
  3. Check Left Front Window Motor Operation Perform power window motor test. See «POWER WINDOW MOTOR»(ref-29238-S22011809822001010800000) under COMPONENT TESTING. If left front power window motor is faulty, replace left front power window motor. If left front power window motor is okay, go to next step.
  4. Check Left Front Power Window Motor Circuits Disconnect left front power window motor connector. Measure resistance of Red/Green and Red/Black wires between one-touch module 5-pin connector and left front power window motor connector. If resistances are less than 5 ohms, replace one-touch down module. If resistance of either wire is greater than 5 ohms, repair wire in question.

POWER WINDOW MOTOR

With motor and drive assembly removed from vehicle, connect battery leads to motor terminals. Motor should operate smoothly. Reverse battery connections. Motor should reverse rotation. If motor does not operate as specified, replace motor.
