ADJUSTMENTS

Note. Prior to performing wheel alignment, perform visual and mechanical inspection of wheels, tires and suspension components. See PRE-ALIGNMENT CHECKS in the WHEEL ALIGNMENT THEORY & OPERATION article in GENERAL INFORMATION.

CAMBER ADJUSTMENT (FRONT)

  1. Top mounting studs on front struts are offset. Camber is adjusted by rotating strut to different positions. See «CAMBER/CASTER POSITION REFERENCE»(ref-62342-S01498817992001011800000) table. Lift vehicle to unload suspension.
  2. Remove wheel. Remove top strut attaching nuts. Lower strut, and rotate strut bearing to desired position. (Scheme 2) Reinstall strut into tower. Install and tighten attaching nuts.

CAMBER/CASTER POSITION REFERENCE (2)

CAMBER ADJUSTMENT (REAR)

Rear camber is not adjustable. If camber is not within specification, check for damaged suspension components, deteriorated bushings or distorted body mounting points.

CASTER ADJUSTMENT

CAUTIONDO NOT hold tension struts near bend when loosening or tightening lock nuts.

Caster is not adjustable. If caster is not within specification, check for damaged suspension components, deteriorated bushings or distorted body mounting points.

TOE-IN ADJUSTMENT (FRONT)

Ensure steering wheel is centered. Loosen tie rod end adjusting sleeve clamp bolts or lock nuts. Turn adjusting sleeve or tie rod to adjust toe-in. Tighten tie rod end adjusting sleeve clamp bolt or lock nut.

TOE-IN ADJUSTMENT (REAR)

Loosen bolt attaching rear control arm and bushing to sub-frame. Rotate adjusting cam to obtain correct toe-in. While holding adjusting cam, tighten rear adjusting cam attaching nut.
