DESCRIPTION

WARNINGTo avoid injury from accidental air bag deployment, read and follow all SERVICE PRECAUTIONS and DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM procedures in the AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article in the ACCESSORIES/SAFETY EQUIPMENT section.

Heater system is a blended air design, receiving outside air through an air inlet duct connected to upper cowl. Air is directed through and/or around heater core, mixed, and discharged through outlets to floor, instrument panel and/or defroster nozzles.

The blower motor pulls air from inlet duct and forces it into heater where it is mixed and distributed. Blower motor has 4 speeds and is controlled by blower motor switch and blower motor resistor assembly.

Heater system uses cable and vacuum actuation to control temperature, airflow and air source (recirculated or fresh). Control switches are located in Integrated Control Panel (ICP), also known as control panel.
