Removal
Note. Suspension fasteners are critical parts because they affect performance of vital components and systems and their failure may result in major service expense. New parts must be installed with the same part numbers or equivalent part, if replacement is necessary. Do not use a replacement part of lesser quality or substitute design. Torque values must be used as specified during reassembly to make sure of correct retention of these parts.
Note. Disconnect the battery ground cable or damage to the steering gear internal power relay may occur resulting in steering gear replacement.

- Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to «BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES»(ref-569582) .
- Remove the wheel and tire. Refer to «WHEELS AND TIRES»(ref-569561) .
- Discard the specified component. Follow local disposal regulations.
- General Equipment: Remover, Front Wheel Hub.
- NOTE: Do not use a hammer to separate the tie-rod end from the wheel knuckle or damage to the wheel knuckle can result. NOTE: Do not damage the tie-rod end boot while installing the Tie-Rod End Remover. Discard the specified component. Follow local disposal regulations.
- NOTE: Do not use a prying device or separator fork between the balljoint and the wheel knuckle. Damage to the balljoint or balljoint boot may result. Only use the pry bar by inserting it into the lower arm body opening. NOTE: Use care when releasing the lower arm and wheel knuckle into the resting position or damage to the ball joint seal and/or Constant Velocity (CV) joint boot may occur. Discard the specified component. Follow local disposal regulations.
- Remove the brake disc. Refer to «FRONT DISC BRAKE»(ref-569583) .
- Discard the specified component. Follow local disposal regulations.

- Tighten in 2 stages. Stage 1: Tighten to 80 Nm (59 lb-ft). Stage 2: Tighten an additional 180 degrees.
- Special Tool(s): Installer, Halfshaft 204-161.
- Tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).
- Install the brake disc. Refer to «FRONT DISC BRAKE»(ref-569583) .
- Tighten to 4.8 Nm (42 lb-in).
- Tighten to 83 Nm (61 lb-ft).
- Tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).
- NOTE: Do not tighten the front wheel hub nut with the vehicle on the ground. The nut must be tightened to specification before the vehicle is lowered onto the wheels. Wheel bearing damage will occur if the wheel bearing is loaded with the weight of the vehicle applied. NOTE: Install and tighten the new wheel hub nut to specification in a continuous rotation. Always install a new wheel hub nut after loosening or when not tightened to specification in a continuous rotation or damage to the components may occur. NOTE: Apply the brake to keep the halfshaft from rotating. Tighten in 2 stages. Stage 1: Tighten to 80 Nm (59 lb-ft). Stage 2: Tighten an additional 90 degrees.
- Install the wheel and tire. Refer to «WHEELS AND TIRES»(ref-569561) .
- Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to «BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES»(ref-569582) .
- Check and, if necessary, align the front end. Refer to «SUSPENSION SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION»(ref-569580) .

- Tightening sequence. Loosely install. Tighten in 2 stages Stage 1: Tighten to 115 Nm (85 lb-ft). Stage 2: Tighten an additional 90 degrees. Tighten in 2 stages. Stage 1: Tighten to 115 Nm (85 lb-ft). Stage 2: Tighten an additional 90 degrees.
- General Equipment: Jackstand.
- NOTE: Tighten the suspension bushing fasteners with the suspension loaded or with the weight of the vehicle resting on the wheels and tires, otherwise incorrect clamp load and bushing damage may occur. Tighten in 2 stages. Stage 1: Tighten to 80 Nm (59 lb-ft). Stage 2: Tighten an additional 360 degrees.
- Tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft). Tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).
- Install the wheel and tire. Refer to «WHEELS AND TIRES»(ref-569561) .
- Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to «BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES»(ref-569582) .
- Check and, if necessary, align the front end. Refer to «SUSPENSION SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION»(ref-569580) .

- General Equipment: Hydraulic Press. Special Tool(s): Handle 205-153. Installer, Wheel Hub Bearing Cup 204-023.
- NOTE: The Bearing Puller and Bushing Remover/Installer must be used to prevent damage to the hub. If the hub is damaged, a new hub must be installed. NOTE: Do not use heat to remove the bearing inner ring or damage to the bearing may occur. NOTE: This step may not be necessary if the wheel bearing inner race remains on the wheel bearing after removing the wheel hub. General Equipment: Hydraulic Press. Special Tool(s): Remover/Installer, Bushing 204-180.
- Visual check.
- Inner securing ring.
- Discard the specified component. Follow local disposal regulations. General Equipment: Hydraulic Press. Special Tool(s): Handle 205-153. Installer, Drive Pinion Bearing Cup 205-140. Remover, Axle Bushing 205-538.

- NOTE: Make sure the wheel bearing is installed into the wheel knuckle with the wheel speed sensor ring (black in color) toward the inner face of the wheel knuckle. NOTE: Once the wheel bearing is installed, make sure the wheel speed sensor ring on the bearing and the sensor hole on the wheel knuckle are clean or damage to the wheel speed sensor or sensor ring may occur. General Equipment: Hydraulic Press. Special Tool(s): Handle 205-153. Installer, Drive Pinion Bearing Cup 205-140.
- NOTE: Make sure the wheel speed sensor hole in the wheel knuckle is not blocked by the circlip. The sensor hole must be positioned between the ends of the circlip. Inner securing ring.
- General Equipment: Hydraulic Press. Special Tool(s): Handle 205-153. Installer, Drive Pinion Bearing Cup 205-140. Installer, Axle Bearing Cup 205-225.
- Install the wheel knuckle. Refer to «WHEEL KNUCKLE»(ref-569578-S09025334172013072700000) .
Note. Wheel studs are not serviceable separately. Wheel bearing and wheel hub assembly must be replaced.
- Remove the wheel bearing and hub. Refer to «WHEEL BEARING AND WHEEL HUB»(ref-569578-S16077656762013072700000) .
Installation

- Steering wheel in straight ahead position.

- On both sides. To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
- WARNING: Do not reuse steering column shaft bolts. This may result in fastener failure and steering column shaft detachment or loss of steering control. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious injury to vehicle occupant(s). Discard the specified component. Follow local disposal regulations. To install, tighten to 28 Nm (21 lb-ft).
- NOTE: The stabilizer bar links are designed with low friction ball joints that have a low breakaway torque. NOTE: Use the hex-holding feature to prevent the ball stud from turning while removing or installing the stabilizer bar link nut. On both sides. Discard the specified component. Follow local disposal regulations. To install, tighten to 63 Nm (46 lb-ft).
- NOTE: Do not use a hammer to separate the tie-rod end from the wheel knuckle or damage to the wheel knuckle can result. NOTE: Do not damage the tie-rod end boot while installing the Tie-Rod End Remover. On both sides. Discard the specified component. Follow local disposal regulations.
- NOTE: Do not excessively bend or twist the exhaust flexible pipe. Failure to follow these instructions may cause damage to the exhaust flexible pipe.
- To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
- To install, tighten to 86 Nm (63 lb-ft).
- General Equipment: Transmission Jack.
- Lower the subframe in the sequence shown in illustration. On both sides. To install, tighten to 20 Nm (177 lb-in). On both sides. To install, tighten to 20 Nm (177 lb-in). Discard the specified component. Follow local disposal regulations. To install, tighten in 2 stages. Stage 1: Tighten to 140 Nm (103 lb-ft). Stage 2: Tighten an additional 180 degrees. On both sides. To install, tighten to 115 Nm (85 lb-ft). Lower the subframe 35 mm (1.378 in).
- Discard the specified component. Follow local disposal regulations. To install, tighten in 2 stages. Stage 1: Tighten to 115 Nm (85 lb-ft). Stage 2: Tighten an additional 90 degrees.

- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- NOTE: While tightening the subframe bolts, make sure the front subframe does not move. Special Tool(s): Alignment Pins, Subframe 502-002.

- NOTE: If replacing the stabilizer bar or the stabilizer bar bushings, note the position of the stabilizer bar bushing brackets. The bushing locator on the clamp offset must face inboard. NOTE: Make sure that the component is clean, free of foreign material and lubricant. Visual check. Metal strip. NOTE: Make sure that the component is installed to the position noted before removal. General Equipment: Vise. The bushing locator bump on both bushings must face the RH side of the vehicle.
- Install the stabilizer bar. Refer to «STABILIZER BAR»(ref-569578-S12478079562013072700000) .

- Discard the specified component. Follow local disposal regulations. To install, tighten to 35 Nm (26 lb-ft).
