FLOOR JACK

The front jacking point is at the bolt head of the lower control arm. (Scheme 3) The rear jacking points are located on the rear trailing arms. (Scheme 4)

CHECKING PROCEDURES
Note. Vehicle ride height specifications are not available from manufacturer. See ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES .
Lean Correction
Note. When installing a new coil spring, install a new one with the same part number and the same spring code. Refer to the Vehicle Certification (VC) Label on the driver side door.
- Measure the distance from the wheelhouse opening to the center of the wheel and tire at the same point on both sides of the vehicle. (Scheme 6)
- If the difference exceeds 0.4" (10 mm), a lean correction is necessary. Compare the original with a new coil spring. Note the difference.
- Remove the higher side coil spring. If the original coil spring exceeds the height of the new one by 0.4" (10 mm), install the new coil spring in the vehicle. See appropriate FRONT article in SUSPENSION or see appropriate REAR article in SUSPENSION.
- If the original coil spring is shorter than the new one by 0.4" (10 mm), remove the low side coil spring from the vehicle. See appropriate FRONT article in SUSPENSION or see appropriate REAR article in SUSPENSION. Compare all three coil springs and select the two most evenly matched for installation.

Front
- Start the engine and center the steering wheel. Turn the engine off, and lock the steering wheel in position. Check the toe settings. See «WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-163432-S25107748992004063000000).
- Remove the clamps. (Scheme 7) Clean and lubricate the jam nut(s) and front wheel spindle tie rod threads. Loosen tie rod end jam nuts. Rotate the front wheel spindle tie rods.
- Tighten the jam nuts to specification. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-163432-S26729529672004063000000). Install the clamp(s). Recheck the toe settings.

Rear
Note. Jounce the vehicle to make sure that the suspension is in its normal resting position.
- Check the toe setting using suitable wheel alignment equipment. Loosen the left and right rear suspension trailing arm and bushing bolt. (Scheme 8)
- Turn the left and right adjusting cams simultaneously until the toe is within specification. (Scheme 9) See «WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-163432-S25107748992004063000000).
- Tighten the left and right rear suspension trailing arm and bushing bolts to specification. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-163432-S26729529672004063000000).
