Scheme 1

Scheme 1: Daytime Running Lamps (DRL)

The daytime running lamp (DRL) system consists of a DRL module that is located behind the front bumper and is mounted to the radiator support.

Refer to the appropriate SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article for schematic and connector information.

SPECIAL TOOL(S)

Scheme 2

Scheme 2: Daytime Running Lamps (DRL)

The DRL system operates the low beam headlamps at a reduced intensity. The DRL module supplies pulse width modulated (PWM) voltage, approximately 75%-92% of battery voltage, to the low beam headlamps when the following conditions are met

  1. The high beam headlamps are disabled.
  2. The ignition switch is in the RUN position.

The DRL module remains enabled when the low beam headlamps are turned on.

Scheme 3: Inspection and Verification
  1. Verify the customer concern.
  2. Visually inspect for obvious signs of electrical damage. VISUAL INSPECTION CHART
  3. Verify the headlamps are operating correctly. Correct any concerns before proceeding to the next step. For additional information, refer to «EXTERIOR LIGHTING»(ref-210191) to continue diagnosis of the exterior lighting.
  4. If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.
  5. If the concern is not visually evident, verify the symptom and GO to «SYMPTOM CHART»(ref-210195-S16036127172005121400000)
