DESCRIPTION & OPERATION
The remote keyless entry system has 3 major components: a central locking module located behind glove box, an antenna (coaxial cable) located in right side "A" pillar, and a remote transmitter carried by the driver.
When the operator presses the appropriate transmitter button, the system locks and unlocks doors, activates or deactivates the security system, and turns on convenience lights.
Check Driver Door Lock Switch Operation
Lock all doors. Unlock doors using driver door lock switch. If driver door unlocks, replace central locking module and retest system operation. If driver door does not unlock, go to DOOR LOCKS & TRUNK RELEASE - POWER article to continue diagnosis.
Check Passenger Door Lock Switch Operation
Lock all doors. Unlock doors using passenger door lock switch. If all passenger doors unlock, replace central locking module and retest system operation. If all passenger doors do not unlock, go to DOOR LOCKS & TRUNK RELEASE - POWER article to continue diagnosis.
