Adjustments ~110 words
  1. Disconnect fuel return line at fuel rail. Connect hose to container. Connect pressure gauge at diagnostic valve on fuel rail. Install testing relay in place of fuel pump relay.
  2. Operate fuel pump for 10 second intervals and measure fuel volume and pressure. Pump should maintain 30 psi of line pressure immediately after it is shut off.
  3. If pump does not meet specifications check fuel supply lines and tank selector valve. Correct any blockages and recheck pump. If not to specification, replace pump.
  4. If pump does not maintain 30 psi after operation, check injectors and pressure regulator. If they are not leaking, replace pump.
