- Disconnect fuel return line at fuel rail. Connect hose to container. Connect pressure gauge at diagnostic valve on fuel rail. Install testing relay in place of fuel pump relay.
- Operate fuel pump for 10 second intervals and measure fuel volume and pressure. Pump should maintain 30 psi of line pressure immediately after it is shut off.
- If pump does not meet specifications check fuel supply lines and tank selector valve. Correct any blockages and recheck pump. If not to specification, replace pump.
- If pump does not maintain 30 psi after operation, check injectors and pressure regulator. If they are not leaking, replace pump.
