RIDING HEIGHT

Note. Prior to performing wheel alignment, perform preliminary visual and mechanical inspection of wheels, tires and suspension components. See PRE-ALIGNMENT CHECKS in the WHEEL ALIGNMENT THEORY/OPERATION article in GENERAL INFORMATION.

FLOOR JACK

When using floor jack other than jack supplied with vehicle, place jack at points indicated in illustration. (Scheme 4) Use two safety stands on each side of vehicle body once vehicle has been raised with jack.

HOIST

When using frame-contact hoist, adapters should be placed at all four contact points shown in illustration. (Scheme 4) Position adapter so they are centered on the contact points. When using a twin-post hoist, place lifting pads on side sills of vehicle body.

EMERGENCY JACKING

CAUTIONService jack is intended for EMERGENCY use only. Under no circumstances should vehicle ever be lifted by front or rear control arms, half-shafts or CV joints, or trailing links. Severe damage to vehicle could result.
