DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM
To disable system, turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect and isolate negative battery cable. To activate system, reconnect negative battery cable.
| CAUTION | Fasteners, screws and bolts originally used for air bag components, have special coatings and are specifically designed for air bag system. They must never be replaced with any substitutes. Anytime a new fastener is needed, replace with correct fasteners provided in the service package or fasteners listed in parts book. |
SOLENOID CONTROL VALVE
Note. If servicing a solenoid control valve on a vehicle with a 3.5L engine, removal of air intake plenum will allow improved access to control valve. When removing air intake plenum, disconnect plenum from air cleaner, throttle bodies, PCV air tube and idle air control motor. Remove air intake plenum from right side. (Scheme 15)
