TRANSMITTER PROGRAMMING
A scan tool is required to program transmitter. Select PROGRAM RKE on scan tool and follow instructions on scan tool screen.
SYSTEM CHECK
If RKE system, BCM or door lock switches do not operate, check fuses No. 4, 15 and 18 in power distribution center and fuses No. 4, 5 and 9 in junction block. Power distribution center is located next to battery. Junction block is located behind lower left corner of instrument panel. BCM is attached to junction block.
Transmitter Will Not Lock Or Unlock Doors
Check transmitter battery and replace as necessary. Check BCM power and ground circuits. See WIRING DIAGRAM . If system still does not operate, replace transmitter.
All Doors Will Not Unlock Using Transmitter
- Unlock driver's door. Using voltmeter, backprobe BCM 20-pin connector. Check for a voltage pulse at terminal No. 6, while pressing UNLOCK button on transmitter. (Scheme 5) BCM is located on junction block, behind lower left corner of instrument panel. If there is no voltage pulse, replace BCM. See «REMOVAL & INSTALLATION»(ref-123843-S17273804612001092700000). If voltage pulse is present, repair circuit between BCM and driver's door lock motor. See «WIRING DIAGRAM»(ref-123843-S24094776472001092700000).
- Check for voltage pulse at terminals No. 7, 8 and 9 while pressing transmitter UNLOCK button twice within 5 second interval. If there is no voltage pulse, replace BCM. If voltage pulse is present, repair suspect circuit between appropriate BCM terminal and suspect door lock motor.

Driver's Door Will Not Unlock, But Other Doors Unlock, Using Transmitter
Unlock driver's door. Using a voltmeter, backprobe BCM 20-pin connector. Check for a voltage pulse at terminal No. 6 while pressing UNLOCK button on transmitter. (Scheme 5) BCM is located on junction block behind lower left corner of instrument panel. Battery voltage should be present for about one second. If there is no voltage pulse, replace BCM. If voltage pulse is present, repair circuit between BCM and driver's door lock motor. See WIRING DIAGRAM.
Driver's Door Unlocks, But All Other Doors Will Not Unlock, Using Transmitter
Unlock driver's door. Using voltmeter, backprobe BCM 20-pin connector. Check for voltage pulse at terminals No. 7, 8 and 9 while pressing transmitter UNLOCK button twice within 5 second interval. (Scheme 5) BCM is located on junction block, behind lower left corner of instrument panel. If there is no voltage pulse, replace BCM. If voltage pulse is present, repair circuits between appropriate BCM terminal and door lock motor. See WIRING DIAGRAM.
Note. It may be necessary to press LOCK button several times during testing, voltage pulse only appears for milliseconds.
All Doors Will Not Lock Using Transmitter
Using voltmeter, backprobe BCM 20-pin connector. Check for a voltage pulse at terminals No. 10, 11, 12 and 13 while pressing transmitter LOCK button. (Scheme 5) BCM is located on junction block behind lower left corner of instrument panel. If there is no voltage pulse, replace BCM. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If voltage pulse is present, repair harness between appropriate BCM terminal and door lock motor. See WIRING DIAGRAM.
Doors Lock With Transmitter, But Horn Does Not Sound
Press horn button. If horn does not sound, check horns, horn relay and wiring. See STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES article in the ACCESSORIES/SAFETY EQUIPMENT section. Replace components or repair wiring as necessary. If horn does sound, replace BCM. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
Unable To Program BCM With New Transmitter Code, Door Locks Will Not Cycle
