ENGINE IDENTIFICATION
Note. Identification information not applicable.
4-CYLINDER (2.2L & 2.5L)
- Disconnect negative battery cable and remove engine oil dipstick. Drain crankcase. Remove oil pan bolts and oil pan.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Apply RTV sealant at front crankshaft seal retainer-to-cylinder block oil pan surfaces. Apply RTV sealant at end of oil pan gasket end seals and cylinder block pan rail. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(/dodge/shadow/i-1986-1994/remont/mechanical/#engine-oil-pan-removal-4-cyl-v6) .
V6 ENGINE (3.0L)
Note. Manufacturer lists procedure with engine removed only.
- Drain engine oil. Remove oil pan bolts and oil pan. To install, reverse removal procedure. Apply a .11" (3 mm) diameter bead of RTV sealant on oil pan sealing surface.
- Ensure sealant is on the inside of bolt hole and centered in groove on oil pan flange. Sealant must not be forced out toward rear seal flange area. Tighten bolts in a crisscross pattern, working from the center outward. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(/dodge/shadow/i-1986-1994/remont/mechanical/#engine-oil-pan-removal-4-cyl-v6) .
V6 ENGINE (3.3L)
Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove dipstick. Drain engine oil. Remove oil pan bolts and oil pan. To install, reverse removal procedure using new gasket. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
