TEST AUTOMATIC (ROLLING) DOOR LOCKS
Note. For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see BODY CONTROL COMPUTER - INTRODUCTION article. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A after each repair.
- Using scan tool, select CENTRAL TIMER MODULE. If scan tool displays NO RESPONSE or CCD BUS FAILURE, go to appropriate VEHICLE COMMUNICATIONS article. If scan tool does not display NO RESPONSE or CCD BUS FAILURE, go to next step.
- Using scan tool select POWERTRAIN CONTROLLER. If scan tool displays NO RESPONSE or CCD BUS FAILURE, go to appropriate VEHICLE COMMUNICATIONS article. If scan tool does not display NO RESPONSE or CCD BUS FAILURE, go to next step.
- Ensure all doors are closed. Using scan tool, read auxiliary door(s) ajar status. If scan tool displays AUXILIARY DOOR(S) AJAR: CLOSED, go to «SHORTED AUXILIARY DOOR (SIDE OR REAR) AJAR»(ref-688-S36620339652000031300000) under DOOR AJAR SYSTEM. If scan tool does not display AUXILIARY DOOR(S) AJAR: CLOSED, go to next step.
- Ensure driver's door is closed. Using scan tool, read driver's door ajar status. If scan tool displays DR DOOR AJAR SWITCH: CLOSED, go to «SHORTED DRIVER DOOR AJAR CIRCUIT»(ref-688-S02288979092000031300000) under DOOR AJAR SYSTEM. If scan tool does not display DR DOOR AJAR SWITCH: CLOSED, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, select ENGINE. Read DTCs. If any Throttle position Sensor (TPS) or Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) DTCs are present, see appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. If no TPS or VSS DTCs are present, go to next step.
- Ensure passenger's door is closed. Using scan tool, read passenger's door ajar status. If scan tool displays PASSENGER DOOR AJAR SWITCH: CLOSED, go to «SHORTED PASSENGER DOOR AJAR CIRCUIT»(ref-688-S29351083162000031300000) under DOOR AJAR SYSTEM. If scan tool does not display PASSENGER DOOR AJAR SWITCH: CLOSED, go to next step.
- Turn ignition on with engine off. Using scan tool, select SYSTEM TEST then PCM MONITOR. If scan tool displays, POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE: ACTIVE ON BUS, go to next step. If scan tool does not display, POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE: ACTIVE ON BUS, go to appropriate VEHICLE COMMUNICATIONS article.
- Using scan tool, select MISCELLANEOUS. Read AUTO DOOR LOCK status. If scan tool displays, AUTO DOOR LOCKS: ENABLED, go to next step. If scan tool does not display, AUTO DOOR LOCKS: ENABLED, using scan tool, enable door locks.
- Raise and properly support vehicle drive wheels. Close all doors, start engine, apply brakes and put transmission into drive. Release brake and raise vehicle speed to 20 MPH. If doors locked automatically when MPH increased to 20 MPH, system is operating properly. If doors did not lock automatically when MPH increased 20 MPH, replace CTM.
BODY VERIFICATION TEST
- Reconnect all previously disconnected components and connectors. Turn ignition on. If Central Timing Module (CTM) was replaced, program all RKE transmitters and program other options as necessary.
- Ensure ignition is on. Erase all DTCs using scan tool. Turn ignition off and wait 5 seconds. Turn ignition on and fully operate system that was malfunctioning.
- If system is not operating properly, go to «SYMPTOM IDENTIFICATION»(ref-688-S30177208402000031300000) . If system is operating correctly and customer's complaint cannot be duplicated, repair is complete.
