| CAUTION | Do not attempt to remove interior trim panels/moldings without first removing the necessary adjacent panels. To avoid damaging the panels, ensure that all the screws and clips are removed before attempting to remove an interior trim panel/molding. Trim panels are somewhat flexible but can be damaged if handled improperly. |

Scheme 2
- Using a small pry bar or equivalent, remove the insert, the nut and remove the shifter knob. (Scheme 1)
- Using a trim stick C-4755 or equivalent, pry up the boot from the console. (Scheme 2)
INSTALLATION
- Position the shift boot over the shifter lever fully seat onto the console.
- Install the shifter knob and nut and tighten to 27 N.m (20 ft. lbs.).
- Position the insert and seat into the knob fully.
Scheme 3
- Open the trim plugs and remove the bolts. (Scheme 3)
- Remove the a-pillar trim/grab handle from the a-pillar.
- Position the bottom a-pillar locating tabs and install the a-pillar trim.
- Install the bolts and tighten to 6 N.m (55 in. lbs.).
- Close the trim plugs.
REMOVAL
- Remove the upper b-pillar trim. (Refer to «REMOVAL»(/dodge/pickup-r1500/1997-2012/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior) )
- Remove the cowl trim. (Refer to «REMOVAL»(/dodge/pickup-r1500/1997-2012/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior) )

- Remove the shoulder belt anchor bolt.
- Using a trim stick C-4755 or equivalent, remove the lower b-pillar trim. (Scheme 4)

- Remove the rear door sill trim. (Refer to «REMOVAL»(/dodge/pickup-r1500/1997-2012/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior) )
- Using a trim stick C-4755 or equivalent, remove the lower b-pillar trim.
- Pull seat belt out of the trim panel through the slot provided. (Scheme 5)
QUAD CAB
- Route the shoulder belt through the slot in the trim.
- Position the trim and seat the attachment clips fully.
- Install the rear door sill trim. (Refer to «INSTALLATION»(/dodge/pickup-r1500/1997-2012/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior) )
STANDARD CAB
- Position the trim and seat the attachment clips fully.
- Install the seat belt anchor and bolt and tighten to 40 N.m (30 ft. lbs.).
BOTH BODY STYLES
- Install the cowl trim. (Refer to «INSTALLATION»(/dodge/pickup-r1500/1997-2012/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior) )
- Install the upper b-pillar trim. (Refer to «INSTALLATION»(/dodge/pickup-r1500/1997-2012/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior) )

- Remove the seat belt turning loop.
- Open the trim plugs and remove the grab handle bolts, if equipped. (Scheme 6)
- Using a trim stick C-4755 or equivalent, remove the upper b-pillar trim. (Scheme 7) or (Scheme 8)
- Position the upper b-pillar trim and seat the attachment clips fully.
- Install the grab handle bolts and tighten to 6 N.m (55 in. lbs.).
- Close the grab handle trim plugs.
- Install the seat belt turning loop.

- On quad cab models, remove the lower seat belt anchor next to the b-pillar.
- Using a trim stick C-4755 or equivalent, remove the rear cup holder, if equipped.
- Remove the jack assembly.
- Remove the carpet.
- Install the carpet.
- Install the jack assembly.
- Install the rear cup holder, if equipped.
- Install the lower b-pillar trim. (Refer to «INSTALLATION»(/dodge/pickup-r1500/1997-2012/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior) )
- On quad cab models, install the lower seatbelt anchor bolt next to the b-pillar and tighten to 40 N.m (30 ft. lbs.).
- Install the floor console, if equipped. (Refer to «INSTALLATION»(/dodge/pickup-r1500/1997-2012/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior) )
- Install the rear seats, if equipped. (Refer to «SEATS»(/dodge/pickup-r1500/1997-2012/remont/seats/#seats) )
- Install the front seats. (Refer to «SEATS»(/dodge/pickup-r1500/1997-2012/remont/seats/#seats) )

- Using a trim stick C-4755 or equivalent, pry down the release clip and remove the hook. (Scheme 9)
- Snap the coat hook into the sheet metal and seat the base of the coat hook fully.
- Push the upper portion in until it snaps or seats to the base.

- Using a trim stick C-4755 or equivalent, remove the cowl trim panel. (Scheme 10)
- Position the cowl trim and seat the attachment clips fully.

- Remove the seat belt anchor bolt. (Scheme 11)
- Using a trim stick C-4755 or equivalent, remove the lower c-pillar trim.
- Pull seat belt out of the trim panel through the slot provided.
- Route the shoulder belt through the slot in the trim.
- Position the trim and seat the attachment clips fully.
- Install the seat belt anchor bolt and tighten to 40 N.m (30 ft. lbs.).

- Remove the seat belt turning loop.
- Using a trim stick C-4755 or equivalent, remove the upper c-pillar trim. (Scheme 11)
- Position the upper c-pillar trim and seat the attachment clips fully.
- Install the seat belt turning loop.

- Remove the 4WD shifter boot. (Refer to «REMOVAL»(/dodge/pickup-r1500/1997-2012/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior__removal) )
- Using a trim stick C-4755 or equivalent, pry up the transmission shifter boot from the console.
- Remove the transmission shifter extension.
- Remove the console inserts. (Scheme 12)
- Remove and discard the three bolts. (Scheme 13)
- Lift up on the back and remove the console.
- Position the front of the console up under the instrument panel.
- Lower the back of the console and install three new screws.
- Install the inserts.
- Install the transmission shifter extension.
- Position the transmission shifter boot in place and seat the attachment clips fully.
- Install the 4WD shifter boot. (Refer to «INSTALLATION»(/dodge/pickup-r1500/1997-2012/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior__installation) )
- Remove the a-pillar trim. (Refer to «REMOVAL»(/dodge/pickup-r1500/1997-2012/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior) )
- Remove the upper b-pillar trim. (Refer to «REMOVAL»(/dodge/pickup-r1500/1997-2012/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior) )
- Remove the upper c-pillar trim, if equipped. (Refer to «REMOVAL»(/dodge/pickup-r1500/1997-2012/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior) )
- Remove the coat hooks. (Refer to «REMOVAL»(/dodge/pickup-r1500/1997-2012/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior) )
- Disconnect the headliner harness electrical connector at the left a-pillar.
- Remove the dome lamp. (Refer to «DOME LAMP»(/dodge/pickup-r1500/1997-2012/remont/interiorillumination-lights/#lampslighting-interior) )
- Remove the overhead console. (Refer to «OVERHEAD CONSOLE»(/dodge/pickup-r1500/1997-2012/remont/gauges-instrument-panels/#overhead-console) )
- Remove the sun visors. (Refer to «REMOVAL»(/dodge/pickup-r1500/1997-2012/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior) )
- Remove the sun visor supports. (Refer to «REMOVAL»(/dodge/pickup-r1500/1997-2012/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior) )
- Lower the headliner and disconnect the center high mounted stop light.
- Lower the front of the headliner down to the floor just in front of the instrument panel and remove through the passenger door.
- Install the headliner into the vehicle through the passenger door.
- Raise the headliner and insert the right side above right side pillar trim pieces.
- Connect the center high mounted stop light electrical connector.
- Install the sun visor supports. (Refer to «INSTALLATION»(/dodge/pickup-r1500/1997-2012/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior) )
- Install the coat hooks. (Refer to «INSTALLATION»(/dodge/pickup-r1500/1997-2012/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior) )
- Install the sun visors. (Refer to «INSTALLATION»(/dodge/pickup-r1500/1997-2012/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior) )
- Install the overhead console. (Refer to «OVERHEAD CONSOLE»(/dodge/pickup-r1500/1997-2012/remont/gauges-instrument-panels/#overhead-console) )
- Install the dome lamp. (Refer to «DOME LAMP»(/dodge/pickup-r1500/1997-2012/remont/interiorillumination-lights/#lampslighting-interior) )
- Connect the headliner harness electrical connector at the left a-pillar.
- Install the upper c-pillar trim, if equipped. (Refer to «INSTALLATION»(/dodge/pickup-r1500/1997-2012/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior) )
- Install the upper b-pillar trim. (Refer to «INSTALLATION»(/dodge/pickup-r1500/1997-2012/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior) )
- Install the upper a-pillar trim. (Refer to «INSTALLATION»(/dodge/pickup-r1500/1997-2012/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior) )

- Open the trim plugs and remove the bolts. (Scheme 14)
- Remove the grab handle.
- Install the grab handle and install the bolts.
- Tighten the bolts to 6 N.m (55 in. lbs.) and install the trim plugs.

- Remove the child seat tethers, if equipped.
- Remove the screws and remove the utility hooks/bin latch, if equipped. (Scheme 15)
- Using a trim stick C-4755 or equivalent, remove the center seat belt trim bezel, if equipped.
- On quad cab models, remove the left lower c-pillar trim panel. (Refer to «REMOVAL»(/dodge/pickup-r1500/1997-2012/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior) )
- On standard cab models, remove the left lower b-pillar trim panel. (Refer to «REMOVAL»(/dodge/pickup-r1500/1997-2012/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior) )
- Remove the push pin fasteners, if equipped, and remove the back panel trim. (Scheme 16) or (Scheme 17)
Scheme 17
- Position the back panel trim behind the right pillar trim.
- Route the center belt and trim bezel through the back panel, if equipped.
- On standard cab models, install the left lower b-pillar trim panel. (Refer to «INSTALLATION»(/dodge/pickup-r1500/1997-2012/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior) )
- On quad cab models, install the left lower c-pillar trim panel. (Refer to «INSTALLATION»(/dodge/pickup-r1500/1997-2012/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior) )
- Position the center belt trim bezel, if equipped, and seat the attachment clips fully.
- Install the utility hooks/bin latch and screws, if equipped.
- Install the child seat tethers, if equipped.
- If equipped, disconnect mirror harness connector.
- Loosen the mirror base setscrew (Scheme 18)
- Slide the mirror base upward and off the bracket.

- Position the mirror base at the bracket and slide it downward onto the support bracket (Scheme 18)
- Tighten the setscrew 1 N.m (15 in. lbs.) torque.
- If equipped, connect mirror harness connector.
INSTALLATION - REAR VIEW MIRROR SUPPORT BRACKET
- Mark the position for the mirror bracket on the outside of the windshield glass with a wax pencil.
- Clean the bracket contact area on the glass. Use a mild powdered cleanser on a cloth saturated with isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol. Finally, clean the glass with a paper towel dampened with alcohol.
- Sand the surface on the support bracket with fine grit-sandpaper. Wipe the bracket surface clean with a paper towel.
- Apply accelerator to the surface on the bracket according to the following instructions: Crush the vial to saturate the felt applicator. Remove the paper sleeve. Apply accelerator to the contact surface on the bracket. Allow the accelerator to dry for five minutes. Do not touch the bracket contact surface after the accelerator has been applied.
- Apply adhesive accelerator to the bracket contact surface on the windshield glass. Allow the accelerator to dry for one minute. Do not touch the glass contact surface after the accelerator has been applied.
- Install the bracket according to the following instructions: Apply one drop of adhesive at the center of the bracket contact-surface on the windshield glass. Apply an even coat of adhesive to the contact surface on the bracket. Align the bracket with the marked position on the windshield glass. Press and hold the bracket in place for at least one minute. NOTE: Verify that the mirror support bracket is correctly aligned, because the adhesive will cure rapidly.
- Allow the adhesive to cure for 8-10 minutes. Remove any excess adhesive with an alcohol-dampened cloth.
- Allow the adhesive to cure for an additional 8-10 minutes before installing the mirror.
- Remove the screws at the visor pivot and remove the visor.
- Install the visor and install the screws at the visor pivots.

- Using a trim stick C-4755 or equivalent, pry down the release clip and remove the hook. (Scheme 19)
- Snap the visor support into the sheet metal and seat the release clip fully.
Scheme 20
- Remove the cab back panel trim. (Refer to «REMOVAL»(/dodge/pickup-r1500/1997-2012/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior) )
- While holding the vent, press the tabs to release the vent into the cab back panel. (Scheme 20)
- Twist the vent and remove through the vent hole.
- Position the vent into the vent hole in the cab back panel.
- Twist the vent and pull it into the hole frame and seat the tabs fully.
- Install the cab back panel trim. (Refer to «INSTALLATION»(/dodge/pickup-r1500/1997-2012/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior) )
Scheme 21
- Using a trim stick C-4755 or equivalent, pry up the sill trim and remove. (Scheme 21)
- Position the sill trim and seat the attachment clips fully.
- Fold the rear seat cushion up.
- Remove the rear nuts in each corner. (Scheme 22)
- Fold the load floor up, remove the front bolts and remove the tray. (Scheme 23)

- Install the load floor and install the bolts.
- Tighten the bolts to 40 N.m (30 ft. lbs.).
- Fold the load floor down and install the nuts.
- Tighten the nuts to 25 N.m (18 ft. lbs.).
- Open the load floor.
- Remove the snap clips and retaining pins. (Scheme 24)
- Remove the support cylinder.
Scheme 24
- Install the support cylinder with the thin end down.
- Install the retaining pins and clips.
