DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM
To disable system, turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect and isolate negative battery cable. To activate system, reconnect negative battery cable.
| CAUTION | Fasteners, screws and bolts originally used for air bag components, have special coatings and are specifically designed for air bag system. DO NOT replace with any substitutes. Anytime a new fastener is needed, replace with correct fasteners provided in service package or fasteners listed in parts book. |
GEARSHIFT CROSSOVER CABLE
- Remove floor shift handle. Remove shift console. Loosen adjustment screw on crossover cable at shifter. (Scheme 5) Lock transaxle crossover lever in 3-4 neutral position using 1/4" drill bit. (Scheme 6)
- Align hole in crossover lever with hole in boss on transaxle case. Ensure shifter is in Neutra. Tighten adjustment screw to 70 in. Lbs. Remove drill bit and check transaxle shifting.
