Washer System Will Not Flow Fluid
Check fluid level in reservoir. Check for pinched, blocked hose or nozzle, misrouted hoses or defective nozzle check valve. Check for short in wiper/washer switch. See WIPER/WASHER SWITCH under COMPONENT TESTS. Check for open in Brown wire between wiper/washer switch and washer pump motor. Check for open in Black wire between washer pump motor and ground. Check for faulty washer pump motor. See WASHER INOPERATIVE under SYSTEM TESTS.
Washer Nozzle Does Not Flow Fluid
Check for frozen or plugged nozzle. Check for plugged supply hose. Check for clogged washer fluid reservoir. Repair or replace as necessary.
Washer Fluid Output Is Low
Check for partially blocked hose, misrouted hoses or miswired washer pump. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair as necessary.
Washer Fluid Level Indicator Inoperative
Check for loose fluid level sensor connector. Check for open in Black/Tan wire between washer fluid level sensor and instrument panel cluster. Check for open in Black wire between washer fluid level sensor and ground. Check for defective instrument cluster. See ANALOG INSTRUMENT PANELS - CONCORDE, INTREPID, LHS & 300M article. See WASHER FLUID LEVEL INDICATOR INOPERATIVE under SYSTEM TESTS.
Washer Fluid Leaking
Ensure filler tube is not loose or disconnected. Check pump and sensor grommets. Check reservoir for cracks or defects. Replace if necessary. See WINDSHIELD WASHER RESERVOIR under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Check for loose fluid level sensor connector. Repair as necessary. Using DVOM, check resistance in Black/Tan wire between washer fluid level sensor connector terminal No. 2 and instrument panel cluster connector C2 terminal No. 4. See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-3653-S02627038252000051100000) . If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Black/Tan wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
- Using DVOM, check resistance in Black wire between washer fluid level sensor connector terminal No. 1 and ground. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
- Check for defective instrument cluster. See ANALOG INSTRUMENT PANELS - CONCORDE, INTREPID, LHS & 300M article. Repair as necessary. If instrument cluster is okay, go to next step.
- Disconnect washer fluid level sensor connector. Using DVOM, check resistance between washer fluid level sensor terminals. Fill and empty reservoir while monitoring DVOM reading. If resistance does not switch between continuity and open, replace washer fluid level sensor. See «WASHER PUMP MOTOR & SENSOR»(ref-3653-S38804470782000051100000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
