  1. With vehicle in neutral, position vehicle on hoist.
  2. Remove the wheel and tire assemblies.
  3. Remove half shaft (1) hub/bearing nut (2).
  4. Remove wheel speed sensor.
  5. Remove both brake calipers and hang to the side. Refer to «CALIPER, DISC BRAKE, REMOVAL»(ref-465922-S03520429842012042300000) .
  6. Remove tie rod end nut (1).
  7. Remove stabilizer bar link bolts (7, 5) from lower control arms.
  8. Separate the outer tie rod ends (3) from the knuckles (2) with Ball Joint Remover (special tool #8677, Remover, Ball Joint) (1).
  9. Remove the upper ball joint nuts.
  10. Separate the upper ball joints (2) from the knuckles (3) using Ball Joint Press (special tool #C-4150A, Press, Ball Joint) (1).
  11. Remove shock clevis bolt and nut from lower control arm
  12. Lean the knuckle (2) out and push half shaft (1) out of the hub/bearing.
  13. Pry half shafts from axle/axle tube with pry bar.

Scheme 7: INSTALLATION
  1. Using axle seal protector (special tool #10270, Protector, Half Shaft, Drive) (1), install half shafts in the axle. Verify half shaft has engaged.
  2. Install half shafts (1) through the hub/bearing (2).
  3. Install shock clevis on lower control arm and tighten nut to specifications.
  4. Install upper control arm on knuckle and tighten ball joint nut to specifications.
  5. Install tie rod end (1) on knuckle and tighten to specifications.
  6. Install stabilizer link (7, 5) on lower control arm and tighten to specifications.
  7. Install caliper on caliper adapter and tighten to specifications. Refer to «CALIPER, DISC BRAKE, INSTALLATION»(ref-465922-S02225644202012042300000) .
  8. Install wheel speed sensor (1) on the hub/bearing (3).
  9. Install half shaft hub/bearing nut and tighten to 310 N.m (229 ft. lbs.).
  10. Install the wheel and tire assemblies.
  11. Pump brake pedal until caliper pistons and brake pads are seated and a firm brake pedal is obtained.
