  1. 1) TEST FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION Turn the ignition on. With the scan tool, record and erase DTCs. Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds then turn the ignition on. With the scan tool, read DTCs. Does the scan tool display: B1034 - INFRARED TEMPERATURE SENSOR INPUT CIRCUIT LOW? Yes Go to 2) . No The condition that caused this code to set is not present at this time. Using the wiring diagram as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition. Operate the system several times and recheck for active DTCs. Perform «BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1»(ref-285334-S04155882182008052100000) .
  2. 2) CHECK FOR ACTIVE DTC B1034 - INFRARED TEMPERATURE SENSOR INPUT CIRCUIT LOW WITH INFRARED SENSOR DISCONNECTED Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the Infrared Temperature Sensor harness connector. Turn the ignition on. With the scan tool, read DTCs. Does the scan tool display B1034: INFRARED TEMPERATURE SENSOR INPUT CIRCUIT LOW? Yes Go to 3) . No Replace the Infrared Temperature Sensor in accordance with the Service Information. Perform «BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1»(ref-285334-S04155882182008052100000) .
  3. 3) CHECK (C83) INFRARED SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the Compass Temperature Module (EOM) harness connector. Measure the resistance between the (C83) Infrared Sensor Signal circuit and ground. Is the resistance below 10K ohms? Yes Repair the (C83) Infrared Sensor Signal circuit for a short to ground. Perform «BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1»(ref-285334-S04155882182008052100000) . No Replace the Compass Temperature Module (EOM) in accordance with the Service Information. Perform «BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1»(ref-285334-S04155882182008052100000) .

  1. 1) TEST FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION Turn the ignition on. With the scan tool, record and erase DTCs. Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds then turn the ignition on. With the scan tool, read DTCs. Does the scan tool display: B1035 - INFRARED TEMPERATURE SENSOR INPUT CIRCUIT HIGH? Yes Go to 2) . No The condition that caused this code to set is not present at this time. Using the wiring diagram as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition. Operate the system several times and recheck for active DTCs. Perform «BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1»(ref-285334-S04155882182008052100000) .
  2. 2) CHECK THE (C83) INFRARED SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE Disconnect the Compass Temperature Module (EOM) harness connector. Disconnect the Infrared Temperature Sensor harness connector. Measure the voltage between the (C83) Infrared Sensor Signal circuit and ground. Is there any voltage present? Yes Repair the (C83) Infrared Sensor Signal circuit for a short to voltage. Perform «BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1»(ref-285334-S04155882182008052100000) . No Go to 3) .
  3. 3) CHECK FOR ACTIVE DTC B1035 - INFRARED TEMPERATURE SENSOR INPUT CIRCUIT HIGH, WITH JUMPER WIRE CONNECTED BETWEEN THE (C83) INFRARED SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT AND THE (Z957) GROUND CIRCUIT Turn the ignition off. Connect a jumper wire between the (C83) Infrared Sensor Signal circuit and the (Z957) ground circuit. Turn the ignition on. With the scan tool, read DTCs. Does the scan tool display B1035: INFRARED TEMPERATURE SENSOR INPUT CIRCUIT LOW? Yes Replace the Infrared Temperature Sensor in accordance with the Service Information. Perform «BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1»(ref-285334-S04155882182008052100000) . No Go to 4) .
  4. 4) CHECK THE (Z957) INFRARED SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN Measure the resistance of the (Z957) Infrared Sensor Ground circuit between the Infrared Temperature Sensor harness connector and ground. Is the resistance above 5.0 ohms? Yes Repair the (Z957) Infrared Sensor Ground circuit for an open. Perform «BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1»(ref-285334-S04155882182008052100000) . No Go to 5) .
  5. 5) CHECK THE (C83) INFRARED SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN Measure the resistance of the (C83) Infrared Sensor Signal circuit between the Compass Temperature Module (EOM) harness connector and the Infrared Temperature Sensor harness connector. Is the resistance above 5.0 ohms? Yes Repair the (C83) Infrared Sensor Signal circuit for an open. Perform «BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1»(ref-285334-S04155882182008052100000) . No Replace the Compass Temperature Module (EOM) in accordance with the Service Information. Perform «BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1»(ref-285334-S04155882182008052100000) .

Yes Refer to the symptom list for problems related to Communication in «ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES - ELECTRICAL DIAGNOSTICS»(ref-285334) article. No Go to 3) .
  3. 3) CAN B BUS (+) CIRCUIT OPEN Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the Compass Temperature Module (EOM) harness connector. Disconnect the Front Control Module C1 harness connector. Measure the resistance of the (D55) Can B Bus (+) circuit between the Front Control Module C1 harness connector and the Compass Temperature Module (EOM) harness connector. Is the resistance below 2.0 ohms? Yes Go to 4) . No Repair the Can B Bus (+) circuit for an open. Perform «BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1»(ref-285334-S04155882182008052100000) .
  4. 4) CAN B BUS (-) CIRCUIT OPEN Measure the resistance of the (D54) Can B Bus (-) circuit between the Front Control Module C1 harness connector and the Compass Temperature Module (EOM) harness connector. Is the resistance below 2.0 ohms? Yes Replace the Compass Temperature Module (EOM). Perform «BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1»(ref-285334-S04155882182008052100000) .
