REMOVAL

WARNINGRefer to the applicable warnings and cautions for this system before performing the following operation (Refer to WARNING ) and (Refer to CAUTION - A/C SYSTEM ). Failure to follow the warnings and cautions could result in possible personal injury or death.

Note. The A/C compressor may be removed and repositioned without disconnecting the refrigerant lines or discharging the refrigerant system. Discharging is not necessary if servicing the compressor clutch, clutch coil, engine, engine cylinder head or the generator.

  1. Recover the refrigerant from the refrigerant system (Refer to «REFRIGERANT SYSTEM RECOVERY»(ref-212855-S22954270352005122700000) ).
  2. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  3. Remove the serpentine drive belt (Refer to «ACCESSORY DRIVE»(ref-212748) ).
  4. Disconnect the wire harness connector from the A/C compressor clutch coil.
  5. Remove the nuts (1) that secure the suction line fitting (2) and discharge line fitting (3) to the A/C compressor (4).
  6. Disconnect the suction and discharge line fittings from the A/C compressor.
  7. Remove the O-ring seals and gaskets from the suction and discharge line fittings and discard.
  8. Install plugs in, or tape over all of the opened refrigerant line fittings and the compressor ports.
  9. If equipped with the 3.7L or 4.7L engine, remove the bolts (1, 2 and 3) that secure the A/C compressor (4) to the mounting bracket (6).
  10. Remove the A/C compressor from the engine compartment.
  11. If equipped with the 5.7L Hemi engine, remove the nuts and bolts that secure the generator and A/C compressor support bracket and remove the bracket from the engine.
  12. Remove the bolts (1 and 3) that secure the A/C compressor (2) to the mounting bracket (4).
  13. Remove the A/C compressor from the engine compartment.

INSTALLATION

Note. Be certain to check the refrigerant oil level if the A/C compressor is being replaced. See REFRIGERANT OIL LEVEL in this group for the procedures. Use only refrigerant oil of the type recommended for the A/C compressor in the vehicle.

  1. Position the A/C compressor (4) onto the mounting bracket (6) in the engine compartment.
  2. On the 3.7L and 4.7L engines, install and tighten the bolts in the following sequence: Install bolt (3) and hand tightened. Install bolt (2) and hand tightened. Install bolt (1) and hand tightened. Tightened bolt (3) to 40 N.m (30 ft. lbs.). Tightened bolt (2) to 55 N.m (41 ft. lbs.). Tightened bolt (1) to 55 N.m (41 ft. lbs.).
  3. For the 5.7L Hemi engine, install and tighten the bolts in the following sequence: Install bolts (1) and hand tightened. Install bolt (3) and hand tightened. Tightened bolts (1) to 40 N.m (30 ft. lbs.). Tightened bolt (3) to 55 N.m (41 ft. lbs.).
  4. For the 5.7L Hemi engine, install the generator and A/C compressor support bracket and retaining nuts and bolts. Tighten the nuts and bolts securely.
  5. Remove the tape or plugs from the opened suction line fitting (2) and the discharge line fitting (3) and the compressor ports (4).
  6. Lubricate new rubber O-ring seals with clean refrigerant oil and install them and new gaskets onto the suction and the discharge line fittings. Use only the specified O-rings as they are made of a special material for the R-134a system. Use only refrigerant oil of the type recommended for the A/C compressor in the vehicle.
  7. Install the suction and discharge line fittings onto the A/C compressor.
  8. Install the nuts (1) that secure the suction and discharge lines to the A/C compressor. Tighten the nuts to 23 N.m (17 ft. lbs.).
  9. Connect the wire harness connector to the A/C compressor clutch coil.
  10. Install the serpentine drive belt (Refer to «ACCESSORY DRIVE»(ref-212748) ).
  11. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
  12. Evacuate the refrigerant system (Refer to «REFRIGERANT SYSTEM EVACUATE»(ref-212855-S27996684662005122700000) ).
  13. Charge the refrigerant system (Refer to «REFRIGERANT SYSTEM CHARGE»(ref-212855-S42838088152005122700000) ).

  1. Recover the refrigerant from the refrigerant system (Refer to «REFRIGERANT SYSTEM RECOVERY»(ref-212855-S22954270352005122700000) ).
  2. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  3. Remove the push-pin retainers (1) and the upper condenser/radiator seal (2).
  4. Disconnect the wire harness connectors from the condenser cooling fan motor (9) and the A/C pressure transducer (10).
  5. Remove the two wire harness retainers (2) from the condenser fan shroud (4) and position the wire harness out of the way.
  6. Remove the nut (1) that secures the A/C discharge line (5) to the A/C condenser (6).
  7. Disconnect the A/C discharge line from the A/C condenser and the retainer (3) located on the condenser fan shroud (4).
  8. Remove the O-ring seal and gasket from the discharge line fitting and discard.
  9. Install plugs in, or tape over the discharge line fitting and condenser inlet port.
  10. Remove the nut (8) that secures the A/C liquid line (7) to the A/C condenser.
  11. Disconnect the A/C liquid line from the A/C condenser.
  12. Remove the O-ring seal and gasket from the liquid line fitting and discard.
  13. Install plugs in, or tape over the liquid line fitting and condenser outlet port.
  14. Remove the three bolts (1) that secure the upper radiator support (2) to the upper front crossmember (5).
  15. Remove the upper radiator support and position the radiator overflow hose (3) out of the way.
  16. Remove the bolt that secures the condenser/cooling fan assembly (4) to the upper left fender rail.
  17. Carefully push back the radiator (6) for clearance and remove the condenser/cooling fan assembly from the engine compartment.
  18. Place the condenser/cooling fan assembly on a workbench and remove the two screws (1) that secure the A/C condenser (2) to the condenser fan shroud (3).
  19. Remove the A/C condenser from the condenser fan shroud.

Note. If the A/C condenser is being replaced, add 30 milliliters (1 fluid ounce) of refrigerant oil to the refrigerant system. Use only refrigerant oil of the type recommended for the A/C compressor in the vehicle.

  1. Position the A/C condenser (2) into the condenser fan shroud (3).
  2. Install the two bolts (1) that secure the A/C condenser to the condenser fan shroud. Tighten the bolts to 5 N.m (45 in. lbs.).
  3. Carefully push back the radiator (6) for clearance and install the condenser/cooling fan assembly (4). Insert the two lower condenser fan shroud mounting tabs into the holes in the lower front crossmember.
  4. Install the bolt that secures the condenser/cooling fan assembly to the upper left fender rail. Tighten the bolt to 5 N.m (45 in. lbs.).
  5. Position the radiator overflow hose (3) to it's installed location
  6. Align the upper mounting tab of the condenser/cooling fan assembly to the hole in the upper radiator support (2) and install the upper radiator support.
  7. Install the three bolts (1) that secure the upper radiator support to the upper front crossmember (5). Tighten the bolts to 23 N.m (17 ft. lbs.).
  8. Remove the tape or plugs from the liquid line fitting and condenser outlet port.
  9. Lubricate a new rubber O-ring seal with clean refrigerant oil and install it and a new gasket onto the liquid line fitting. Use only the specified O-ring as it is made of a special material for the R-134a system. Use only refrigerant oil of the type recommended for the A/C compressor in the vehicle.
  10. Connect the A/C liquid line (7) to the A/C condenser (6).
  11. Install the nut (8) that secures the A/C liquid line to the A/C condenser. Tighten the nut to 22 N.m (16 ft. lbs.).
  12. Remove the tape or plugs from the discharge line fitting and condenser inlet port.
  13. Lubricate a new rubber O-ring seal with clean refrigerant oil and install it and a new gasket onto the discharge line fitting. Use only the specified O-ring as it is made of a special material for the R-134a system. Use only refrigerant oil of the type recommended for the A/C compressor in the vehicle.
  14. Connect the A/C discharge line (5) to the A/C condenser and the retainer (3) located on the condenser fan shroud.
  15. Install the nut (1) that secures the A/C discharge line to the A/C condenser. Tighten the nut to 22 N.m (16 ft. lbs.).
  16. Install the wire harness and the two wire harness retainers (2) to the condenser fan shroud (4).
  17. Connect the wire harness connectors to the condenser cooling fan motor (9) and the A/C pressure transducer (10).
  18. Position the upper condenser/radiator seal and install the push-pin retainers.
  19. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
  20. Evacuate the refrigerant system (Refer to «REFRIGERANT SYSTEM EVACUATE»(ref-212855-S27996684662005122700000) ).
  21. Charge the refrigerant system (Refer to «REFRIGERANT SYSTEM CHARGE»(ref-212855-S42838088152005122700000) ).

  1. Remove the protective cap (1) from the service port (2).
  2. Recover the refrigerant from the refrigerant system (Refer to «REFRIGERANT SYSTEM RECOVERY»(ref-212855-S22954270352005122700000) ).
  3. Using a Schrader-type valve core tool, remove the valve core (3) from the service port.
  4. Install a plug in or tape over the opened service port(s).

Scheme 466: INSTALLATION
  1. Lubricate the valve core (3) with clean refrigerant oil prior to installation. Use only refrigerant oil of the type recommended for the A/C compressor in the vehicle.
  2. Remove the tape or plug from the service port (2). CAUTION: A valve core that is not fully seated in the A/C service port can result in damage to the valve during refrigerant system evacuation and charge. Such damage may result in a loss of system refrigerant while uncoupling the charge adapters.
  3. Using a Schrader-type valve core tool, install and tighten the valve core into the service port(s).
  4. Evacuate the refrigerant system (Refer to «REFRIGERANT SYSTEM EVACUATE»(ref-212855-S27996684662005122700000) ).
  5. Charge the refrigerant system (Refer to «REFRIGERANT SYSTEM CHARGE»(ref-212855-S42838088152005122700000) ). NOTE: The protective cap helps aid in service port sealing and helps protects the refrigerant system from contamination. Remember to always reinstall the protective cap onto the service port when refrigerant system service is complete.
  6. Install the protective cap (1) onto the service port.

Note. If the front A/C evaporator is being replaced, add 60 milliliters (2 fluid ounces) of refrigerant oil to the refrigerant system. Use only refrigerant oil of the type recommended for the A/C compressor in the vehicle.

Scheme 467: INSTALLATION
  1. Install the A/C evaporator (1) into the lower half of the HVAC housing (2). Make sure that the evaporator drain is clean and unrestricted and that the evaporator insulator (3) is properly installed.
  2. Install the probe for the evaporator temperature sensor into the fins of the A/C evaporator (Refer to «SENSOR-EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE»(ref-212851-S25345641672005122700000) .)
  3. Assemble the HVAC housing (Refer to «HOUSING-HVAC»(ref-212853-S30259552272005122700000) ).
  4. Install the HVAC housing (Refer to «HOUSING-HVAC»(ref-212853-S30259552272005122700000) ).

  1. Recover the refrigerant from the refrigerant system (Refer to «REFRIGERANT SYSTEM RECOVERY»(ref-212855-S22954270352005122700000) ).
  2. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  3. Disconnect the wire harness connector (6) from the A/C pressure transducer (5).
  4. If required, remove the A/C pressure transducer from the A/C discharge line (1).
  5. Remove the nut (7) that secures the A/C discharge line to the A/C condenser (2).
  6. Disconnect the A/C discharge line from the A/C condenser and the retainer (3) located on the condenser fan shroud (4).
  7. Remove the O-ring seal and gasket from the discharge line fitting and discard.
  8. Install plugs in, or tape over the discharge line fitting and condenser inlet port.
  9. Remove the nut (1) that secures the A/C discharge line (3) to the A/C compressor (4).
  10. Disconnect the A/C discharge line from the A/C compressor.
  11. Remove the O-ring seal and gasket from the discharge line fitting and discard.
  12. Install plugs in, or tape over the opened refrigerant line fitting and the compressor port.
  13. Remove the A/C discharge line from the engine compartment.

  1. Position the A/C discharge line into the engine compartment.
  2. Remove the tape or plugs from the opened discharge line fitting (3) and the compressor port (4).
  3. Lubricate a new rubber O-ring seal with clean refrigerant oil and install it and a new gasket onto the discharge line fitting. Use only the specified O-ring as it is made of a special material for the R-134a system. Use only refrigerant oil of the type recommended for the A/C compressor in the vehicle.
  4. Install the A/C discharge line to the A/C compressor.
  5. Install the nut (1) that secures the A/C discharge line to the A/C compressor. Tighten the nut to 23 N.m (17 ft. lbs.).
  6. Remove the tape or plugs from the opened discharge line fitting (1) and the condenser port (2).
  7. Lubricate a new rubber O-ring seal with clean refrigerant oil and install it and a new gasket onto the discharge line fitting. Use only the specified O-ring as it is made of a special material for the R-134a system. Use only refrigerant oil of the type recommended for the A/C compressor in the vehicle.
  8. Install the A/C discharge line to the A/C condenser and the retainer (3) located on the condenser fan shroud.
  9. Install the nut (7) that secures the A/C discharge line to the A/C condenser. Tighten the nut to 22 N.m (16 ft. lbs.).
  10. If removed, install the A/C pressure transducer (5) onto the A/C discharge line.
  11. Connect the wire harness connector (6) to the A/C pressure transducer.
  12. Connect the negative battery cable.
  13. Evacuate the refrigerant system (Refer to «REFRIGERANT SYSTEM EVACUATE»(ref-212855-S27996684662005122700000) ).
  14. Charge the refrigerant system(Refer to «REFRIGERANT SYSTEM CHARGE»(ref-212855-S42838088152005122700000) ).

Note. The liquid line is serviced in two sections. The front section connects between the A/C condenser and the receiver/drier. The rear section connects between the receiver/drier and the A/C expansion valve. On models equipped with the rear heating-A/C system, the rear section of the liquid line also includes an extension tube that connects the liquid line to the underbody lines.

  1. Recover the refrigerant from the refrigerant system (Refer to «REFRIGERANT SYSTEM RECOVERY»(ref-212855-S22954270352005122700000) ).
  2. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  3. Remove the air cleaner housing (1) from the right side of the engine compartment (Refer to appropriate ENGINE article).
  4. Remove the bolt (1) that secures the front section of the liquid line (2) to the receiver/drier (3).
  5. Disconnect the front section of the liquid line from, the receiver/drier.
  6. Remove the O-ring seal from the liquid line fitting and discard.
  7. Install plugs in, or tape over the opened liquid line fitting and receiver/drier port.
  8. Remove the nut (1) that secures the front section of the liquid line (2) to the A/C condenser (3).
  9. Disconnect the liquid line from the A/C condenser.
  10. Remove the O-ring seal and gasket from the liquid line fitting and discard.
  11. Install plugs in, or tape over the opened liquid line fitting and condenser port.
  12. Remove the front section of the liquid line from the engine compartment.

  1. Recover the refrigerant from the refrigerant system (Refer to «REFRIGERANT SYSTEM RECOVERY»(ref-212855-S22954270352005122700000) ).
  2. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  3. Remove the air cleaner housing (1) from the right side of the engine compartment (Refer to appropriate ENGINE article).
  4. Remove the rear section of the liquid line (2) from the plastic retainer (3) located on the right inner fender (4).
  5. Remove the bolt (1) that secures the rear section of the liquid line (2) to the receiver/drier (3).
  6. Disconnect the rear section of the liquid line from the receiver/drier.
  7. Remove the O-ring seal from the liquid line fitting and discard.
  8. Install plugs in, or tape over the opened liquid line fitting and the receiver/drier port.
  9. Raise and support the vehicle.
  10. Remove the right front wheelhouse splash shield (Refer to «LINER-FRONT FENDER»(ref-212840-S40194930252005122700000) ).
  11. Remove the plastic retainer (1) that secures the suction line (2) to the liquid line tapping block (4).
  12. Remove the nut (3) that secures the liquid line tapping block to the A/C expansion valve (5).
  13. Disconnect the suction line and the rear section of the liquid line from the A/C expansion valve.
  14. Remove the O-ring seals and gasket from the suction and liquid line fittings and discard.
  15. Install plugs in, or tape over the opened refrigerant line fittings and the expansion valve ports.
  16. Separate the suction line from the liquid line tapping block.
  17. On models equipped with the rear heating-A/C system, disconnect the underbody liquid line from the liquid line tapping block (Refer to «COUPLER- REFRIGERANT LINE»(ref-212856-S30040275102005122700000) ) and (Refer to «LINE-A/C LIQUID»(ref-212856-S12923225152005122700000) ).
  18. Remove the rear section of the liquid line from the engine compartment.

Note. The liquid line is serviced in two sections. The front section connects between the A/C condenser and the receiver/drier. The rear section connects between the receiver/drier and the A/C expansion valve. On models equipped with the rear heating-A/C system, the rear section of the liquid line also includes an extension tube that connects the liquid line to the underbody lines.

  3. Lubricate a new rubber O-ring seal with clean refrigerant oil and install it and a new gasket onto the liquid line fitting. Use only the specified O-ring as it is made of a special material for the R-134a system. Use only refrigerant oil of the type recommended for the A/C compressor in the vehicle.
  4. Connect the liquid line to the A/C condenser.
  5. Install the nut (1) that secures the liquid line to the A/C condenser. Tighten the nut to 22 N.m (16 ft. lbs.).
  6. Remove the tape or plugs from the liquid line fitting (2) and the receiver/drier (3).
  7. Lubricate a new rubber O-ring seal with clean refrigerant oil and install it onto the liquid line fitting. Use only the specified O-ring as it is made of a special material for the R-134a system. Use only refrigerant oil of the type recommended for the A/C compressor in the vehicle.
  8. Connect the front section of the liquid line to the receiver/drier.
  9. Install the bolt (1) that secures the front section of the liquid line to the receiver/drier. Tighten the bolt to 11 N.m (100 in. lbs.).
  10. Install the air cleaner housing (1) to the right side of the engine compartment (Refer to appropriate ENGINE article).
  11. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
  12. Evacuate the refrigerant system (Refer to «REFRIGERANT SYSTEM EVACUATE»(ref-212855-S27996684662005122700000) ).
  13. Charge the refrigerant system (Refer to «REFRIGERANT SYSTEM CHARGE»(ref-212855-S42838088152005122700000) ).

  1. Position the rear section of the liquid line into the engine compartment.
  2. Install the suction line (2) into the liquid line tapping block (4).
  3. Install the plastic retainer (1) that secures the suction line to the liquid line tapping block.
  4. Remove the tape or plugs from the suction and liquid line fittings and the A/C expansion valve (5).
  5. Lubricate new rubber O-ring seals with clean refrigerant oil and install them and a new gasket onto the A/C expansion valve. Use only the specified O-rings as they are made of a special material for the R-134a system. Use only refrigerant oil of the type recommended for the A/C compressor in the vehicle.
  6. Connect the suction line and the rear section of the liquid line to the A/C expansion valve.
  7. Install the nut (3) that secures the liquid line tapping block to the A/C expansion valve. Tighten the nut to 23 N.m (17 ft. lbs.).
  8. On models equipped with the rear heating-A/C system, connect the underbody liquid line to the liquid line tapping block (Refer to «LINE-A/C LIQUID»(ref-212856-S12923225152005122700000) ) or (Refer to «COUPLER- REFRIGERANT LINE»(ref-212856-S30040275102005122700000) ).
  9. Install the right front wheelhouse splash shield (Refer to «LINER-FRONT FENDER»(ref-212840-S40194930252005122700000) ).
  10. Lower the vehicle.
  11. Remove the tape or plugs from the liquid line fitting (2) and the receiver/drier (3).
  12. Lubricate a new rubber O-ring seal with clean refrigerant oil and install it onto the liquid line fitting. Use only the specified O-ring as it is made of a special material for the R-134a system. Use only refrigerant oil of the type recommended for the A/C compressor in the vehicle.
  13. Connect the rear section of the liquid line to the receiver/drier.
  14. Install the bolt (1) that secures the rear section of the liquid line to the receiver/drier. Tighten the bolt to 11 N.m (100 in. lbs.).
  15. Install the rear section of the liquid line (2) into the plastic retainer (3) located on the right inner fender (4).
  16. Install the air cleaner housing (1) to the right side of the engine compartment (Refer to appropriate ENGINE article).
  17. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
  18. Evacuate the refrigerant system (Refer to «REFRIGERANT SYSTEM EVACUATE»(ref-212855-S27996684662005122700000) ).
  19. Charge the refrigerant system (Refer to «REFRIGERANT SYSTEM CHARGE»(ref-212855-S42838088152005122700000) ).

  1. Recover the refrigerant from the refrigerant system (Refer to «REFRIGERANT SYSTEM RECOVERY»(ref-212855-S22954270352005122700000) ).
  2. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  3. Remove the nut (1) that secure the suction line (2) to the A/C compressor (4).
  4. Disconnect the suction line from the A/C compressor.
  5. Remove the O-ring seal and gasket from the suction line fitting and discard.
  6. Install plugs in, or tape over the opened refrigerant line fitting and the compressor port.
  7. Raise and support the vehicle.
  8. Remove the right front wheelhouse splash shield (Refer to «LINER-FRONT FENDER»(ref-212840-S40194930252005122700000) ).
  9. Remove the plastic retainer (1) that secures the suction line (2) to the liquid line tapping block (4).
  10. Remove the nut (3) that secures the liquid line tapping block to the A/C expansion valve (5).
  11. Disconnect the suction line and the rear section of the liquid line from the A/C expansion valve.
  12. Remove the O-ring seals and gasket from the suction and liquid line fittings and discard.
  13. Install plugs in, or tape over the opened refrigerant line fittings and the expansion valve ports.
  14. Separate the suction line from the liquid line tapping block.

  16. Remove the suction line from the engine compartment.

  1. Position the suction line (2) into the engine compartment.
  2. Install the suction line into the liquid line tapping block (4).
  3. Install the plastic retainer (1) that secures the suction line to the liquid line tapping block.
  4. Remove the tape or plugs from the suction and liquid line fittings and the A/C expansion valve (5).
  5. Lubricate new rubber O-ring seals with clean refrigerant oil and install them and a new gasket onto the suction and liquid line fittings. Use only the specified O-rings as they are made of a special material for the R-134a system. Use only refrigerant oil of the type recommended for the A/C compressor in the vehicle.
  6. Connect the suction and liquid line fittings to the A/C expansion valve.
  7. Install the nut (3) that secures the liquid line tapping block to the A/C expansion valve. Tighten the nut to 23 N.m (17 ft. lbs.).
  8. On models equipped with the rear heating-A/C system, connect the underbodyrefrigerant line to the suction line (Refer to «LINE-A/C LIQUID»(ref-212856-S12923225152005122700000) ) or (Refer to «COUPLER- REFRIGERANT LINE»(ref-212856-S30040275102005122700000) ).
  9. Install the right front wheelhouse splash shield (Refer to «LINER-FRONT FENDER»(ref-212840-S40194930252005122700000) ).
  10. Lower the vehicle.
  11. Remove the tape or plugs from the opened suction line fitting (2) and the compressor port (4).
  12. Lubricate a new rubber O-ring seal with clean refrigerant oil and install it and a new gasket onto the suction line fitting. Use only the specified O-ring as it is made of a special material for the R-134a system. Use only refrigerant oil of the type recommended for the A/C compressor in the vehicle.
  13. Install the suction line onto the A/C compressor.
  14. Install the nut (1) that secures the suction line to the A/C compressor. Tighten the nut to 23 N.m (17 ft. lbs.).
  15. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
  16. Evacuate the refrigerant system(Refer to «REFRIGERANT SYSTEM EVACUATE»(ref-212855-S27996684662005122700000) ).
  17. Charge the refrigerant system(Refer to «REFRIGERANT SYSTEM CHARGE»(ref-212855-S42838088152005122700000) ).

  3. Remove the two bolts (3) that secure the receiver/drier and bracket to the right front frame rail (5).
  4. Remove the receiver/drier from the engine compartment.

Note. If the receiver/drier is being replaced, add 30 milliliters (1 fluid ounce) of refrigerant oil to the refrigerant system. Use only the refrigerant oil of the type recommended for the A/C compressor in the vehicle.

  2. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.

  4. Remove the two bolts (1) that secure the A/C expansion valve (2) to the evaporator tube tapping block (3).
  5. Remove the A/C expansion valve from the evaporator tube tapping block.
  6. Remove the O-ring seals from the evaporator tube fittings and discard.
  7. Install plugs in, or tape over the opened evaporator tube fittings and all expansion valve ports.

  3. Install the A/C expansion valve (2) onto the evaporator tube tapping block (3).
  4. Install the two bolts (1) that secure the A/C expansion valve to the evaporator tube tapping block. Tighten the bolts to 11 N.m (97 in. lbs.).
  5. Install the suction line (1) and the liquid line (2) to the A/C expansion valve (3) (Refer to «INSTALLATION»(ref-212855-S27447942002005122700000) ) or (Refer to «INSTALLATION»(ref-212855-S27447942002005122700000) ).
  6. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
  7. Evacuate the refrigerant system (Refer to «REFRIGERANT SYSTEM EVACUATE»(ref-212855-S27996684662005122700000) ).
  8. Recharge the refrigerant system (Refer to «REFRIGERANT SYSTEM CHARGE»(ref-212855-S42838088152005122700000) ).
