DESCRIPTION

The power distribution system for this vehicle consists of the following components

  1. Front Power Distribution Center (PDC) - located in the engine compartment
  2. Rear Power Distribution Center (PDC) - located in trunk
  3. Power Outlets

The power distribution system also incorporates various types of circuit control and protection features, including

  1. Automatic resetting circuit breakers
  2. Blade-type fuses
  3. Cartridge fuses
  4. Relays
  5. Mini fuses

The majority of electrical system fuses and relays are housed in the two Power Distribution Centers (PDC). One is located in the engine compartment, the Front Power Distribution Centers (PDC). The PDC is located next to the battery in the rear of the vehicle. Both of the PDC are replaced only as part of the body wiring harness.

  1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
  2. Look inside and note position of the retaining bosses (2).
  3. Insert Remover, Power Outlet (special tool #10246, Remover, Power Outlet) (1) into the retaining bosses (2) of the power outlet.
  4. Pull out the base through the mounting ring by gently rocking the tool.
  5. Disconnect the harness (1) from the power outlet (2).
  6. Set the base aside and remove the base mount ring.
