WHEN MONITORED

Continuously with the ignition in the run position.

SET CONDITION

If the ESM controller detects an invalid calibration (checksum value).

POSSIBLE CAUSES

Possible Causes
ESM - INTERNAL ERROR

Always perform the Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .

Continuously with the ignition in the run position.

If the ESM detects an error in the backlight circuitry.

Possible Causes
UPPER SHIFT KNOB LOWER SHIFT KNOB/SHROUD SHIFTER LEVER ASSEMBLY ESM - INTERNAL ERROR

Always perform the Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .

Continuously with the ignition in the run position.

If the ESM detects an error in the forward, rearward and side to side movement of the shifter.

Possible Causes
SHIFTER LEVER ASSEMBLY ESM - INTERNAL ERROR

P1C73-00-PARK SWITCH CIRCUIT STUCK

If the ESM detects an error in the park switch circuit.

CHARGING SYSTEM DTCS VEHICLE WAS JUMP STARTED INCORRECTLY SYSTEM VOLTAGE HIGH ESM - INTERNAL ERROR

Always perform the Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .

Every 7 msec with

1) Engine speed greater than 500 rpm.

2) Battery voltage between 10 and 16 volts.

CAN C BUS messages are not received for 10 seconds.

Possible Causes
ESM - INTERNAL ERROR PCM - INTERNAL ERROR TCM - INTERNAL ERROR

Always perform the Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .

Continuously with the ignition in the run position.

If the Shift Lever Assembly controller detects an invalid calibration (checksum value).

Possible Causes
ESM - INTERNAL ERROR TCM INTERNAL ERROR

Always perform the Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .

Continuously with the ignition on and voltage within a valid range.

No failure in CAN BUS monitoring.

No failure in CAN BUS or message monitoring.

A message was not received within its expected time frame.

Possible Causes
PCM - INTERNAL ERROR CAN BUS CIRCUITS OPEN OR SHORTED DTCS RELATED TO BATTERY VOLTAGE, IGNITION OR VIN MESSAGES POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE POWER AND GROUND MODULE THAT SET THIS DTC

Always perform the Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .

Continuously with the ignition in the run position.

If the ESM detects an invalid CAN BUS signal.

Possible Causes
ESM - INTERNAL ERROR TCM - INTERNAL ERROR CAN BUS CIRCUITS OPEN OR SHORTED

Always perform the Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .

The circuit is continuously monitored with the ignition on.

Battery voltage between 10.0 and 16.0 volts.

Electronic Shift Module (ESM) is configured correctly.

BUS messages not received over the CAN C circuit for approximately two to five seconds.

Possible Causes
ESM NOT CONFIGURED CORRECTLY CAN BUS CIRCUITS OPEN OR SHORTED MODULE THAT SET THIS DTC

Always perform the Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .

Continuously with the ignition on and voltage within a valid range.

No failure in CAN BUS monitoring.

No failure in CAN BUS or message monitoring.

A message was not received within its expected time frame.

Possible Causes
INSTRUMENT CLUSTER (IC) IC POWER AND GROUND CAN BUS CIRCUITS OPEN OR SHORTED DTCS RELATED TO BATTERY VOLTAGE, IGNITION OR VIN MESSAGES MODULE THAT SET THE DTC

Always perform the Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .

Continuously with the ignition in the run position.

If the ESM detects an invalid CAN BUS signal from the TCM.

Possible Causes
ESM - INTERNAL ERROR TCM - INTERNAL ERROR CAN BUS CIRCUITS OPEN OR SHORTED

Always perform the Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .

Continuously with the ignition in the run position.

BUS messages not received from the TCM within the calibration threshold.

Possible Causes
