Shift Lever Test

  1. Shift lever test will instruct technician to place gearshift in each gear position, starting in Park and proceeding to Low. Press ENTER key after placing gearshift in each gear position.
  2. The DRB-II will display one of the following conditions: shift lever test has been passed, shift linkage requires adjustment, or error code has been set. If an error code is set, refer to the «TROUBLE SHOOTING CHARTS»(/dodge/caravan/ii-1990-1995/remont/automatic-trans/#diagnosis-a-60441te__trouble-shooting-charts) and perform appropriate test indicated by chart. If adjust linkage is displayed, adjust shift cable or linkage. See appropriate TRANSMISSION SERVICING - A/T article in the AUTOMATIC TRANS SERVICING section. CAUTIONDO NOT perform clutch test immediately after driving vehicle without first turning ignition off. If ignition is not turned off first, the following message will be displayed: CANNOT PERFORM TEST AN UPSHIFT HAS OCCURRED.
