Removal & Installation (2.5L, 3.9L & 5.9L Gasoline Engine)
Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove generator drive belt and mounting bolts. Remove pivot bolt, and position generator aside to access harness connectors. Remove B+ terminal nut, field terminal nuts and ground wire harness hold-down nuts. Remove harness connectors and generator. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten fasteners to specification. Removal & Installation (4.7L Engine)
Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove generator drive belt. Remove 3 mounting bolts, and position generator aside to access harness connectors. Remove B+ terminal nut, field terminal nuts and ground wire harness hold-down nuts. Remove harness connectors and generator. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten fasteners to specification. Removal & Installation (Diesel Engine)
Disconnect both negative battery cables. Remove generator drive belt. Loosen, but do not remove generator mounting bracket-to-engine bolts. Remove pivot bolt, and position generator aside to access harness connectors. Remove B+ terminal nut, field terminal nuts and ground wire harness hold-down nuts. Remove harness connectors and generator. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
