- PROGRAM ALL OF THE IGNITION KEYS Turn the ignition on. With the scan tool, attempt to program the key(s) into the WCM/SKREEM. Was the programming of the key(s) successful? Yes Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-485546-S13917643862012071300000) and perform the WCM VERIFICATION TEST. No Replace the ignition key and attempt to program it into the WCM/SKREEM. If the DTC resets, replace and program the Wireless Control Module (WCM/SKREEM) in accordance with the Service Information. NOTE: If this vehicle is equipped with a Steering Column Lock Module, it must be replaced along with the WCM. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-485546-S13917643862012071300000) and perform the WCM VERIFICATION TEST.
- DETERMINING IF DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) IS CURRENT NOTE: An external Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) key (and/or pass/radio key), such as one used to gain access to a 24 hour gym, can cause this DTC to set and create a no start condition. Inspect the customer's key chain for any type of RFID key. If one is not found, question the customer to see if a spare key chain has this RFID key on it or if it was removed from the original key chain before the vehicle was released for service. If a RFID key is present, remove the ignition key from the vehicle and remove the RFID key from the key chain. For GPEC equipped vehicles, disconnect the battery and wait a minimum of 5 minutes, reconnect and attempt to start the vehicle. For NGC equipped vehicles, turn the ignition on a minimum for one hour, and then attempt to start the vehicle. If the vehicle does not start, continue with the diagnostic test. NOTE: Verify the key being used is the proper key for this vehicle and a blank key. If the key being programmed is not blank (one that has been programmed for another vehicle) this fault will set. With the scan tool, read and record the WCM DTCs. With the scan tool, erase the WCM DTCs. NOTE: Perform the following test several times to make sure the DTC is current. Turn the ignition off. Wait 10 seconds. Turn the ignition on. With the scan tool, read the WCM DTCs. Does the scan tool display the DTC that was previously erased? Yes Go To 2 . No Go To 6 .
- CHECKING FOR MULTIPLE KEYS Are there multiple vehicle ignition keys available? Yes Go To 3 . No Go To 4 .
- MULTIPLE KEY OPERATION NOTE: Perform the following steps using one of the vehicle ignition keys. When finished, repeat the procedure using each of the other vehicle keys, one at a time. With the scan tool, erase the WCM DTCs. Turn the ignition off. Wait 10 seconds. Turn the ignition on. With the scan tool, read the WCM DTCs. Is the DTC present for all ignition keys? Yes Replace and program the Wireless Control Module in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-485546-S13917643862012071300000) and perform the WCM VERIFICATION TEST. No Replace the ignition key(s) that cause the SKIM DTC. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-485546-S13917643862012071300000) and perform the WCM VERIFICATION TEST.
- REPROGRAM KEY With the scan tool, attempt to reprogram the ignition key to the WCM. With the scan tool, erase the WCM DTCs. Wait 10 seconds. Turn the ignition on. With the scan tool, read the WCM DTCs. Does the DTC set again? Yes Go To 5 . No Test complete.
- PROGRAM NEW IGNITION KEY Replace the ignition key with a new key. With the scan tool, program the new ignition key to the WCM. With the scan tool, erase the WCM DTCs. Turn the ignition off. Wait 10 seconds. Turn the ignition on. With the scan tool, read the WCM DTCs. Does the DTC set again? Yes Replace and program the Sentry Key Remote Entry Module in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-485546-S13917643862012071300000) and perform the WCM VERIFICATION TEST. No Test complete.
- INTERMITTENT WIRING HARNESS PROBLEM Turn the ignition off. NOTE: Check the following items: Visually inspect the related wiring harness. Look for any chafed, pierced, pinched, or partially broken wires. Visually inspect the related wiring harness connectors. Look for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded terminals. Perform any Technical Service Bulletins (TSB) that may apply. Were any problems found? Yes Repair wiring harness/connectors as necessary. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-485546-S13917643862012071300000) and perform the WCM VERIFICATION TEST. No Test Complete.
- REPROGRAM ALL IGNITION KEYS NOTE: This procedure will clear all the key information from the WCM/SKREEM. It is important to obtain all of the customer's ignition keys so they may be reprogrammed into the module. NOTE: If the total number of keys already programmed is equal to Eight and another Key is trying to be programmed, this fault is valid. Explain to the customer no more Keys are allowed to be programmed. Turn the ignition on. With the scan tool, clear all the key information in the WCM/SKREEM. Program the all of the customer keys into the WCM/SKREEM (maximum eight). Did the "Maximum Number of Keys Programmed" display again? Yes Replace and program the Sentry Key Remote Entry Module (WCM/SKREEM) in accordance with the Service Information. NOTE: If this vehicle is equipped with a Steering Column Lock Module it must be replaced along with the WCM/SKREEM. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-485546-S13917643862012071300000) and perform the WCM VERIFICATION TEST. No Programming of the keys was successful. Test complete. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-485546-S13917643862012071300000) and perform the WCM VERIFICATION TEST.
- VERIFY THAT THE DTC IS ACTIVE Turn the ignition on. NOTE: Before continuing, review and check for the following: Review the repair history of the vehicle. Ensure that the vehicle has the correct PCM and WCM/SKREEM installed by verifying the part numbers. With the scan tool, ensure that the PCM and WCM/SKREEM are programmed correctly. Compare the PCM VIN to the WCM/SKREEM VIN and ensure the two VINs match. With the scan tool, clear DTCs. Perform 5 ignition cycles, leaving the ignition switch on for a minimum of 90 seconds per cycle. With the scan tool, read DTCs. Does the DTC reset? Yes Replace and program the Wireless Control Module (WCM)/Sentry Key Remote Entry Module (SKREEM) in accordance with the Service Information. NOTE: If this vehicle is equipped with a Steering Column Lock Module, it must be replaced along with the WCM/SKREEM. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-485546-S13917643862012071300000) and perform the WCM VERIFICATION TEST. No The DTC is not active at this time. Test complete.

Does the scan tool display the DTC that was previously erased? Yes Go To 2 . No Go To 4 .
- VERIFYING THE PCM VIN Turn the ignition on. With the scan tool, select Engine system from the main menu. Display and record the Vehicle Identification Number. NOTE: Make sure that a VIN has been programmed into the PCM. If a VIN is not displayed, attempt to program the PCM with the correct VIN before continuing. Does the VIN recorded from the PCM match the VIN of the vehicle? Yes Go To 3 . No Using the scan tool perform the PCM Replace procedure to update the VIN in the PCM. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-485546-S13917643862012071300000) and perform the WCM VERIFICATION TEST.
- REPLACE WCM AND CHECK DTCS Turn the ignition off. Replace and program the Wireless Control Module in accordance with the Service Information. Turn the ignition on. With the scan tool, display and clear all PCM and WCM DTCs. Perform five ignition key cycles leaving the ignition key on for 90 seconds per cycle. With the scan tool, check for WCM DTCs. Does the scan tool display the same DTC? Yes Replace and program the Powertrain Control Module in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-485546-S13917643862012071300000) and perform the WCM VERIFICATION TEST. No The repair is complete. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-485546-S13917643862012071300000) and perform the WCM VERIFICATION TEST.

- DTC STATUS NOTE: If the incorrect Placard Values were programmed into the WCM, a DTC could be set. Before continuing with any TPM diagnostic test, using the scan tool, check that the correct Placard Values have been programmed in to the module. NOTE: If the following conditions are present: Low Tire Pressure DTC Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM) Sensor Internal DTC Spare Tire is not equipped with a Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM) Sensor Spare Tire is currently on the vehicle Repair the tire and place it back on the vehicle. - LOW TIRE PRESSURE NOTE: The DTC can be caused by many different factors and might not be a sensor/transmitter or a WCM) fault. Interference from other elements will over power the sensor/transmitter RF frequency making erratic operation to the TPM system. Check the vehicle for aftermarket accessories that could compromise the RF frequency signal before diagnosing the TPM system. NOTE: Seasonal temperature changes will affect tire pressure, and may have caused the tire pressure to fall below the low pressure warning threshold. Tire pressure should always be set based on cold inflation tire pressure (placard). This is defined as the tire pressure after a vehicle has not been driven for more then 3 hours, and in outside ambient temperatures. Correct all tire pressure to the recommended specifications and wait 2 minutes. With the scan tool, clear DTCs in the Wireless Control Module (WCM). Test Drive the vehicle for a minimum of 10 minutes with vehicle speed greater than 15 m.p.h. (24 km/h). Use a TPM-RKE Analyzer 9936 to scan each tire pressure sensor, and make sure the Sensor IDs matches what is programmed into the WCM. The Sensor Identifications are located under "Data Display" for the "WCM Wireless Control Module". If the sensor IDs does not match, following the programming steps outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for "Program Tire Sensor ID w/TPM Tool" under "Miscellaneous Functions" for the "WCM/Wireless Control Module" menu item. - TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING (TPM) SENSOR NOTE: Before continuing, ensure the tire is free from any leaks or damage that would cause a low tire pressure condition. If a problem is found, repair as necessary and retest. With the scan tool, go under "Data Display" for the "WCM Wireless Control Module" and find the compensated tire pressure values. Located underneath each Sensor Identification locations. If any compensated tire pressure values are equal or lower then the Tire Low Pressure Threshold. The corresponding TPM sensor needs to be located and replaced. NOTE: The following tests are used to locate the Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM) Sensor/Transmitter that is setting the low pressure fault. If the tires have been rotated, the Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM) Sensor/Transmitter are no longer in sequence from the factory. Faults are linked to the sensor/transmitter IDs. You MUST locate the correct Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM) Sensor/Transmitter that set the fault before continuing. Use one or more of the following methods below. If a suspected sensor has been located, lower the tire pressure to 20 PSI, wait for two minutes, and check the scan tool for changes to any compensated tire pressure values. Has the malfunctioning/faulty TPM sensor been located? Yes Replace the Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM) Sensor in accordance with the Service Information. - WIRELESS CONTROL MODULE (WCM) Replace the Wireless Control Module (WCM) in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-485546-S13917643862012071300000) and perform the WCM VERIFICATION TEST. With the scan tool, read DTCs. Drive the vehicle for a minimum of 10 minutes while maintaining a continuous speed above 24 km/h (15 mph). During this time the system will learn the sensor IDs. Are there any DTCs present? You MUST locate the correct TPM Sensor that set the fault before continuing. Use the following method below at every tire location. Yes Replace the Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM) Sensor in accordance with the Service Information. - TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING (TPM) SENSOR NOTE: The following tests are used to locate the Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM) Sensor/Transmitter that is setting the sensor internal fault. If the tires have been rotated, the Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM) Sensor/Transmitter are no longer in sequence from the factory. Faults are linked to the sensor/transmitter IDs. You MUST locate the correct Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM) Sensor/Transmitter that set the fault before continuing. Use one or more of the following methods below. METHOD 1: Use a TPM-RKE Analyzer tool to scan each tire pressure sensor. If a suspected sensor has been located, lower the tire pressure to 20 PSI, wait for 2 minutes, and check the scan tool for changes to any compensated tire pressure values. If there was a pressure change to any compensated tire pressure values, check to make sure that the TPM-RKE Analyzer is set correctly, and repeat the process on each wheel on the vehicle until the faulty Sensor/Transmitter has been identified. On base systems starting with the left front wheel, deflate the tire to 20 PSI, wait 2 minutes, and check the scan tool for changes to any compensated tire pressure values or TPM lamp turning on. Look for NO pressure change to any compensated tire pressure value, or a pressure change corresponding to "Sensor 1 Identification". NOTE: Compensated tire pressure values are only available on the premium TPM system. For a base TPM system lowering the tire pressure to 20 PSI will set DTC C0077 and turn on the TPM lamp. NOTE: When scanning a sensor with a TPM-RKE Analyzer, replace the TPM sensor if the results show a "Damaged Accel", "Damaged Temp", or "Damaged Press". Has the malfunctioning/faulty TPM sensor been located? - DTC STATUS Make sure every trigger module connector is connected. Ignition on, engine not running. With the scan tool, run the "Trigger Module Test Routine" under "Miscellaneous Functions" for the "WCM" and follow the procedure. NOTE: Three trigger modules are located in three of the four wheel wells on the vehicle to provide the WCM with the location of the tire pressure sensors on the vehicle. A fourth transponder is not necessary in the remaining wheel well due to the process-of-elimination theory. Once the system knows the location of the first three sensors it assumes the location of the fourth tire pressure sensor. The locations of the trigger modules can vary for each vehicle. Make sure the vehicle has trigger modules, and that are in the right locations. After every repair, the trigger module test routine must be rerun in order to verify the fix. Did the Left Front Trigger Module have NO as a result? Yes Go To 2 . No Perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure.
- (F202) FUSED IGNITION SWITCH OUTPUT (RUN) CIRCUIT OPEN OR HIGH RESISTANCE Ignition on, engine not running. Using a 12-volt test light connect to ground, check the (F202) Fused Ignition Switch Output (Run) circuit. NOTE: The test light should be illuminated and bright. Compare the brightness to that of a direct connection to the battery. Is the test light illuminated and bright? Yes Go To 3 . No Repair the (F202) Fused Ignition Switch Output (Run) circuit for an open circuit or high resistance. - (D508) COM - LIN TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR LAN CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND Turn the ignition off. Measure the resistance between ground and the (D508) COM - LIN Tire Pressure Monitor LAN circuit. Is the resistance below 5.0 Ohms? Yes Repair the (D508) COM - LIN Tire Pressure Monitor LAN circuit for a short to ground. - (D508) COM - LIN TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR LAN CIRCUIT OPEN OR HIGH RESISTANCE Use a jumper wire with one end connected to ground and the other to the (D508) COM - LIN Tire Pressure Monitor LAN circuit in the Front Left Pressure Tire Transponder harness connector. Using a 12-Volt test light connected to battery voltage, probe the (D508) COM - LIN Tire Pressure Monitor LAN circuit in the WCM harness connector. NOTE: The test light should be illuminated and bright. Compared the brightness to that of a direct connection to the battery. Does the test light illuminate bright? Yes Go To 7 . No Repair the (D508) COM - LIN Tire Pressure Monitor LAN circuit for an open circuit or high resistance. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-485546-S13917643862012071300000) and perform the TPM VERIFICATION TEST.
- (D508) COM-LIN TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR LAN CIRCUIT OPEN Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the Tire Pressure Trigger Module. Disconnect the WCM harness connector. With an Ohmmeter measure the resistance of the (D508) COM-LIN Tire Pressure Monitor LAN circuit. Is the resistance below 5 Ohms? Yes Go To 8 . No Repair or replace the open circuit. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-485546-S13917643862012071300000) and perform the TPM VERIFICATION TEST.
- POWER AND GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN Ignition on, engine not running. With a voltmeter measure the voltage between the power and ground circuit at the Trigger Module. Is the voltage at least the same as battery voltage? Yes Go To 9 . No Repair the open circuit. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-485546-S13917643862012071300000) and perform the TPM VERIFICATION TEST.
- CHECK FOR ADDITIONAL TRIGGER MODULE COMMUNICATION RELATED DTCs With the scan tool, select Network View and select Advanced. Is there more than one module with active DTCs "Logged Against" the WCM? Yes Replace/update the WCM in accordance with the service information. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-485546-S13917643862012071300000) and perform the TPM VERIFICATION TEST. No Replace the Tire pressure trigger Module in accordance with the service information. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-485546-S13917643862012071300000) and perform the TPM VERIFICATION TEST.
- DTC STATUS Make sure every trigger module connector is connected. Ignition on, engine not running. With the scan tool, run the "Trigger Module Test Routine" under "Miscellaneous Functions" for the "WCM" and follow the procedure. NOTE: Three trigger modules are located in three of the four wheel wells on the vehicle to provide the WCM with the location of the tire pressure sensors on the vehicle. A fourth transponder is not necessary in the remaining wheel well due to the process-of-elimination theory. Once the system knows the location of the first three sensors it assumes the location of the fourth tire pressure sensor. The locations of the trigger modules can vary for each vehicle. Make sure the vehicle has trigger modules, and that are in the right locations. After every repair, the trigger module test routine must be rerun in order to verify the fix. Did the Left Front Trigger Module have NO as a result? Yes Go To 2 . No Repair intermittent condition. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-485546-S13917643862012071300000) and perform the TPM VERIFICATION TEST.
- (F202) FUSED IGNITION SWITCH OUTPUT (RUN) CIRCUIT OPEN OR HIGH RESISTANCE Ignition on, engine not running. Using a 12-volt test light connect to ground, check the (F202) Fused Ignition Switch Output (Run) circuit. NOTE: The test light should be illuminated and bright. Compare the brightness to that of a direct connection to the battery. Is the test light illuminated and bright? Yes Go To 3 . No Repair the (F202) Fused Ignition Switch Output (Run) circuit for an open circuit or high resistance. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-485546-S13917643862012071300000) and perform the TPM VERIFICATION TEST.
- (Z904) GROUND CIRCUIT(S) OPEN OR HIGH RESISTANCE Using a 12-volt test light connect to 12 volts, check each of the (Z904) Ground circuit(s). NOTE: The test light should be illuminated and bright. Compare the brightness to that of a direct connection to the battery. Is the test light illuminated and bright? Yes Go To 4 . No Repair the (Z904) Ground circuit(s) for an open circuit or high resistance. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-485546-S13917643862012071300000) and perform the TPM VERIFICATION TEST.
- (D508) COM - LIN TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR LAN CIRCUIT SHORT TO VOLTAGE Turn the ignition off. Disconnect all three tire pressure transponder harness connectors. Ignition on, engine not running. Measure the voltage of the (D508) COM - LIN Tire Pressure Monitor LAN circuit. Is there any voltage present? Yes Repair the (D508) COM - LIN Tire Pressure Monitor LAN circuit for a short to voltage. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-485546-S13917643862012071300000) and perform the TPM VERIFICATION TEST. No Go To 5 .
- (D508) COM - LIN TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR LAN CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND Turn the ignition off. Measure the resistance between ground and the (D508) COM - LIN Tire Pressure Monitor LAN circuit. Is the resistance below 5.0 Ohms? Yes Repair the (D508) COM - LIN Tire Pressure Monitor LAN circuit for a short to ground. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-485546-S13917643862012071300000) and perform the TPM VERIFICATION TEST. No Go To 6 .

- Are there any WCM DTCs present? Yes Repair not complete, refer to «DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX»(ref-485546-S00158710032012071300000) and perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure. No Repair is complete.
- TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING (TPM) Was the Wireless Control Module (WCM) replaced during the test procedure? Yes Go To 2 . No Go To 3 .
- WIRELESS CONTROL MODULE (WCM) NOTE: When entering the Personal Identification Number (PIN), care should be taken because the WCM will only allow three consecutive attempts to enter the correct PIN. If three consecutive incorrect PIN's are entered the WCM will Lock Out the scan tool. To exit Lock Mode, the ignition key must remain in the Run position for one hour. All accessories must be off. A battery charger connected to the battery during this time period is recommended. Connect the previously removed and/or disconnected components and harness connectors. Obtain the vehicle's unique Personal Identification Number (PIN) assigned to its original WCM. This number can be obtained from the vehicle invoice or from the Chrysler Customer Center (Phone 1-800-992-1997). With the scan tool, select Miscellaneous Functions, WCM. Then select the desired procedure and follow the display on the scan tool. If the WCM was replaced, all the customer's keys must be programmed to the new module. Use the scan tool and the Program Key procedure With the scan tool, erase all DTCs. Perform five ignition key cycles, leaving the key on for at least 90 seconds per cycle. Drive the vehicle for a minimum of 10 minutes while maintaining a continuous speed above 24 km/h (15 mph). During this time the system will learn the new sensor ID code and will clear any DTCs automatically. With the scan tool, read DTCs. Are there any DTCs present? Yes Refer to «DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING»(ref-485546-S11319983082012071300000) and perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure. No Repair is complete.
- WIRE REPAIR Was there a wire repair? Yes Go To 5 . No Go To 4 .
- TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING (TPM) SENSOR/TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING (TPM) TRANSPONDER REPLACE Connect the previously removed and/or disconnected components and harness connectors. Use a TPM-RKE Analyzer 9936 along with the Scan Tool to program the WCM with the correct TPM Sensor IDs and locations on the vehicle. Drive the vehicle for a minimum of 10 minutes while maintaining a continuous speed above 24 km/h (15 mph). During this time the system will learn the new sensor IDs. With the scan tool, read TPM DTCs. Are there any DTCs present? Yes Refer to «DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING»(ref-485546-S11319983082012071300000) and perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure. No Repair is complete.
- WIRE REPAIR Make sure the WCM and all of the TPM Transponder harness connectors are connected. Ignition on, engine not running. With the scan tool, run the "Trigger Module Test Routine" under "Miscellaneous Functions" for the "WCM" and follow the procedure. NOTE: The three TPM Transponder are located in three of the four wheel wells on the vehicle to provide the WCM with the location of the TPM Sensors on the vehicle. A fourth TPM Transponder is not necessary in the remaining wheel well due to the process-of-elimination theory. Once the system knows the location of the first three TPM Sensors it assumes the location of the fourth TPM Sensor. The locations of the TPM Transponder can vary for each vehicle. Make sure the vehicle has TPM Transponder, and that are in the right locations. After every repair, the TPM Transponder test routine must be rerun in order to verify the fix.
