Frame & Bumpers: Other Dodge Avenger II

AVENGER

  1. Raise vehicle.
  2. Connect license plate wire connectors (1) and (2).
  3. Slide rear fascia onto fascia locators (1).
  4. Install fastener (2).
  5. Install left and right splash shield push pins and fasteners.
  6. Install lower fascia push pins (1).
  7. Lower vehicle.
  8. Raise decklid.
  9. Install upper fascia push pins.

SEBRING SEDAN

  1. Ensure that the energy management foam is properly installed in rear fascia.
  2. Position fascia on vehicle.
  3. Slide fascia forward to engage hooks attaching fascia to bottom of quarter panel.
  4. Install push-in fasteners (1) attaching center of fascia to trunk opening.
  5. Install screws (2) attaching fascia to quarter panel at wheelhouse opening.
  6. Install lower fascia fasteners.
  7. Install fasteners attaching rear splash shields to wheelhouse.

  1. Remove front fascia. See «REMOVAL»(ref-305765-S25939337302008120200000) .
  2. Remove hood latch fasteners (1) and move hood latch out of way.
  3. Remove left and right brace fasteners (2) and braces.
  4. Remove left and right horn fasteners and horn. Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-305797-S20180367412008120200000) .
  5. Remove ambient temperature sensor from bumper reinforcement. Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-305799-S40338478652008120200000) .
  6. Remove coolant lines push pins from bumper reinforcement.
  7. Remove bumper reinforcement fasteners and bumper from vehicle.

FRAME DIMENSIONS - CONVERTIBLE

Frame dimensions are listed in metric scale. All dimensions are from center to center of Principal Locating Point (PLP), or from center to center of PLP and fastener location.

VEHICLE PREPARATION

Position the vehicle on a level work surface. Using screw or bottle jacks, adjust the vehicle PLP heights to the specified dimension above a level work surface. Vertical dimensions can be taken from the work surface to the locations indicated were applicable.

FRAME DIMENSIONS - SEDAN

Frame dimensions are listed in metric scale. All dimensions are from center to center of Principal Locating Point (PLP), or from center to center of PLP and fastener location.

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-305753-S01950477782008120200000) .
  2. Remove the two rear mounting bolts (2) securing the front crossmember (1) to the body.
  3. Remove the mounting screws (1) securing the front crossbrace/reinforcement bracket (2) to the body (1).
  4. Remove the bracket.

SHIELD-FUEL TANK - LEFT

  1. Install the left shield (2), pus pin (3) and tighten the nuts (1) to 29 N.m (21 ft. lbs.).

SHIELD-FUEL TANK - RIGHT

  1. Install the right shield (1), push pins (3) and tighten the nuts (2) to 29 N.m (21 ft. lbs.).
