Removal & Installation

1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove audio system trim panel. (Scheme 2) Remove screws and audio system. Disconnect audio system electrical connector and antenna cable. (Scheme 3)
2. To install, connect audio system electrical connector and antenna cable. Install audio system with screws. Tighten audio system screws to 4 N.m (35 INCH lbs.). Install audio system trim panel. Connect negative battery cable. Enter security code.

1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove front door trim panel. Remove front door speaker screws and front door speaker. Disconnect electrical connector.
2. To install, connect electrical connector. Install front door speaker with screws. Tighten front door speaker screws to 4 N.m (35 INCH lbs.). Install front door trim panel. Connect negative battery cable.

1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove tweeter speaker by prying tweeter speaker off of front door eschutcheon. (Scheme 4) Disconnect electrical connector.
2. To install, connect electrical connector. Install tweeter speaker by snapping tweeter speaker onto front door eschutcheon. Connect negative battery cable.

Scheme 4

1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove rear seat cushion and rear seatback. Remove right side C-pillar trim panel and deck lid sill plate trim panel. Disconnect electrical connector. Remove screws and rear speakers.
2. Install, rear speakers with screws. Tighten rear speaker screws to 4 N.m (35 INCH lbs.). Connect electrical connector. Install deck lid sill plate trim cover and right side C-pillar trim panel. Install rear seatback and rear seat cushion. Connect negative battery cable.

1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove rear access cover. Remove rear speaker access cover. Remove screws and rear speaker. Disconnect electrical connector.
2. To install, connect electrical connector. Reverse removal procedure. NOTE: Dissimilar metals in direct contact with each other may corrode rapidly. Make sure to use correct fasteners to prevent premature corrosion. Install rear speaker with screws. Tighten rear speaker screws to 4 N.m (35 INCH lbs.). Install rear speaker access cover. Connect negative battery cable.

1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove formed headliner. Disconnect antenna cable and electrical connector. (Scheme 5) Remove nut and antenna. NOTE: Dissimilar metals in direct contact with each other may corrode rapidly. Make sure to use correct fasteners to prevent premature corrosion.
2. Install roof antenna with nut. Tighten roof antenna nut to 10 N.m (89 INCH lbs.). Connect antenna cable and electrical connector. Install formed headliner. Connect negative battery cable.

Note. Wagon shown, Hatchback similar.

Scheme 5

1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove C-pillar trim. (Scheme 6) Disconnect antenna and electrical connector.
2. Install glass antenna module with electrical connector and antenna cable. Install C-pillar trim. Tighten glass antenna module bolts to 7 N.m (62 INCH lbs.).

Scheme 6

1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect CD changer electrical connector. Remove nuts and CD changer. (Scheme 7)
2. Install CD changer with nuts. Tighten CD changer nuts to 7 N.m (62 INCH lbs.). Connector electrical connector. Connect negative battery cable.
