STEREO CASSETTE AM/FM RADIO WITH CD CHANGER

The stereo digital logic cassette AM/FM radio with electronic tape ejection and stereo digital logic cassette AM/FM radio with a CD changer located in trunk are optional equipment.

AUDIO SECURITY SYSTEM

The audio security system is activated whenever audio system circuit is disconnected from battery. A four-digit security code must be entered in order for audio system to be functional once again. The security code is stamped on a card located in vehicle (usually in glove box).

Procedure

  1. With ignition switch on ACC or ON position, turn radio ON. At this time, CODE will be shown on radio display along with chime sounds.
  2. Enter four-digit security number using radio pre-set buttons 1 through 6, or 1 through 8 if equipped.
  3. After all four digits are entered, digits will blink three times, and radio will be functional.

Wrong Code

If wrong cod is entered, ERR will briefly appear on display. After this, CODE will appear and code entering procedure can be performed once again. If correct code is not entered within 10 minutes, radio should be disconnected from battery to reset audio system. After connecting battery, repeat code entering procedure.

FRONT & REAR SPEAKERS

All audio systems use four speakers: two speakers mounted in front doors and two speakers mounted in rear. A coaxial two-way rear speaker is offered as an option.

TWEETER SPEAKERS

The tweeter speakers are mounted on front door eschutcheon next to dash panel.

ROOF ANTENNA

The two-piece roof antenna is standard equipment on hatchback and wagon. The to half of antenna can be unscrewed and removed if height clearance problems occur.

TAPE PLAYER & CASSETTE CARE

The head and capstan are two parts of tape player that should be cleaned. This service should be performed every 100 hours of cassette operation. In order to clean head and capstan, use cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol. A cassette cleaner kit may also be used to clean head and capstan. Follow cleaning kit instructions to clean tape player.

Note. DO NOT touch tape head with magnetized tools. If head becomes magnetized, it will degrade cassettes played in player.
