Removing
Remove
- The windscreen wiper arm-blade assembly
- The scuttle grille
- The windscreen pillar trims
- The interior mirror
Remove (on each side)
- The gutter seal (2)
- The bezel (4) (screws (1), (5) and pin (3))
WarningGloves and protective goggles must be worn for the following operations
Fit the electric knife [1] with the blade [3]
On the outside of the vehicle: cut away the adhesive strips (b)
Fit the electric knife [1] with the blade [2] (set to 30 mm)
Inside the vehicle: cut away the adhesive strips (a)
Remove the windscreen using the suction cups [5]
Cleaning - preparation
Preparing the windscreen - 1st case: reusing the windscreen
Level off the adhesive bead
Remove any dust using a clean cloth
NoteOnly apply the primer to the zones laid bare
Preparing the windscreen - 2nd case: fitting a new screen
Degrease the circumference of the windscreen with degreaser [10]
Apply glass primer [8], 10 mm wide seal
Allow to dry for 5 mn
Fit the windscreen moulding (7)
Preparation of the aperture - 1st case: on mastic residue
Level the bead of sealing compound
Remove any dust using a clean cloth
NoteOnly apply the primer to the zones laid bare
Preparation of the aperture - 2nd case: new component
Degrease the aperture with the degreaser [10]
Apply metal primer [9]
Allow to dry for 10 mn
Position the 2 blocks (8)
Refitting
Equip the gun with the cartridge and the special nozzle
Apply a strip of sealing adhesive around the windscreen aperture
WarningIf a two-pack product is used: the time between the glass fitting to the vehicle and the start of extrusion of the adhesive sealant should not exceed 5 minutes
Offer up the windscreen to the aperture using suction pads [5]
Press on the periphery of the glass gently
Clean the windscreen and its surround
Refit the components removed
Drying time at 23 °C
- One-pack product: 3 to 4 hours
- Two-pack product: 30 minutes
NoteBetween 0 °C and 10 °C, the drying times are twice as long
