The "shift lock" system locks the gear selection lever into the "P" position
Releasing the "shift-lock" (normal operation)
Switch on the ignition
Press the brake pedal and keep it pressed
Move the selector lever to disengage it from the "P" position
Releasing the "shift-lock" (with an operating anomaly)
Impossible to release the "shift-lock" following the usual procedure
Probable causes of the anomaly
The causes of malfunction can arise from the following elements
- "shift lock"
- Gear lever position switch
- Automatic gearbox ECU
- Electrical harness
- Battery voltage
Operations to be performed
Remove
- The gear lever knob (1) (pull upwards)
- The cover (2) unclip
- The curtain (3)
Release the "shift lock" (4) using a flat screwdriver
Move the selector lever to disengage it from the "P" position
