Driver information ~804 words

Foreword

The multifunction screen is a driver information medium, it is an ECU of the COMFORT CAN which has the following functions

  • Inform the driver on components exterior to the system (date, time, exterior temperature)
  • Inform the driver on the system's interior components (autodiagnostic, trip computer)
  • Manage the radio display
  • Manage the CD changer display (*)
  • Manage the navigation system display (*)
  • Manage the air conditioning system display
  • Manage the radiotelephone display (*)

(*) according to equipment

There are 4 different multifunction screens

  • Type A+ multifunction screen
  • Type C- multifunction screen
  • Type Ct multifunction screen (see RT3 radiotelephone)
  • Type Dt multifunction screen (see RT3 radiotelephone)

There are 2 levels of radiotelephone (RT3)

  • Level 2: radiotelephone (RT3) with radio, telephone and on-board navigation system functions and Ct monochrome screen
  • Level 3: radiotelephone (RT3) with radio, telephone and on-board navigation system functions and Dt colour screen

NoteThe radiotelephone telematic system (RT3) consists of two components (screen Ct and Dt) and a telematic unit

Functions associated with the multi-function screen

The multifunction screen displays various items of information

  • Hr

Presentation of the operation of the CT and DT display zones

The display zones of the Ct and Dt multifunction screens are managed by a management system referred to as the "graphic server"

Each information group is divided into applications

  • Trip computer
  • Radiotelephony
  • Navigation
  • Heating/ventilation

Each application transmits information to the graphic server

The graphic server decides which information should be taken into account and defines its display zone

The user activates an application, the graphic server allocates the display resource in zone Z0 to it and possibly the audio resource

This activation is carried out by means of the AUDIO, NAV, TRIP, TEL and CLIM buttons which permit switching from one application to another. the current variable is then updated. it is known by the graphic server which can carry out the application display requests in relation to the active zones

Random events such as the dialogue boxes, warning messages, may result in the appearance of new display zones

General zone cohabitation rules

The following table gives the general strategy for superimposing zones as a function of the zone present on the screen and the new zone to display
