Removing
Disconnect the battery
Detach the rear view mirror (2) by giving it a 1/4 turn (at "a") (anti clockwise)
Detach - remove the mirror (2) (at "b")
Unclip: the cover of the dual sensor (as "c"); using tool [1350-ZZ]
Unplug: the connector of the dual sensor (3) (as "d"); using tool [1350-ZZ]
Unclip: the dual sensor (3) (at "e"); using tool [1350-ZZ]
Remove the rain/sunlight bi-sensor (3)
WarningProtect the contact area of the dual sensor (3) (at "f"); Using an adhesive strip (to keep out impurities)
Remove the screen pillar trim
Remove the screen pillar trim
Remove the scuttle grill
NoteIf the windscreen is to be re-used: position strips of adhesive tape (4) and cut them (as "g")
Pass the awl [1354-C] through the bonding strip, from the interior towards the exterior of the windscreen (5)
Thread the cutting wire [1354-E] into the awl [1354-C] and pass it towards the inside
Allow sufficient length for it to be fixed to the winding device
Pass the cutting wire [1354-E] under the seal of the windscreen (in the direction "h") all around the windscreen (5); using soapy water
Cut the cutting wire [1354-E], leaving a length sufficient for attaching it on the fixing (6) of the wiper mechanism
Secure the other end of the wire [1354-E] in the interior on the winding device [1354-AZ]
WarningProtect the area where you are cutting the strip between the dashboard and the wire [1354-E]
When pulling on the cutting wire, ensure the wire is in the right place under the lip of the windscreen seal
NoteAt the slightest resistance of the wire while cutting, slacken it and assist it in passing the obstacle (support shims, excessive thickness of the bead of adhesive or join between panels)
Remove the windscreen (5); using the double hinged suction cups [KIT1-VENT]
Refitting
Preparation: flange
Fit the electric cutter [FEIN-400E] with blade N°128
Level off the beads of adhesive on the windscreen and the flange
If the windscreen is replaced, centre it and position adhesive tape (7) as shown, then cut it (as "j")
Remove the windscreen
Touch up with anti-corrosion product
Degrease the flange using the degreaser provided in the bonding kit
Allow to dry for 10 mn
Applying the adhesive
WarningAlways replace: the trim seals and the height shims that have been damaged
Place the mastic mixer assembly into the gun
Take the adapted nozzle delivered in the bonding kit, or adapt the standard nozzle in the bonding kit to a diameter "A" = 8 mm on a height of "B" = 13 mm
1st case: reusing the windscreen
- There is no need to apply primer
- Remove any impurities on the shaved seal; using a blow gun
2nd case: this method applies in the case of a new windscreen
- Degrease the surround of the glass with the products chosen from the bonding kit
- Some screens are supplied pre-coated with primer
- Further primer must be applied following the line of the primer applied during manufacture "J"; allow to dry for 10 mn
WarningNo more than 8 minutes must elapse between applying the mastic and positioning the glass (for the quick setting bonding mastics)
Apply the bead of adhesive at the centre of the line of primer (at "k")
Position the windscreen in relation to the adhesive strips (7)
Check the fits and clearances of the windscreen
Exert pressure all around the windscreen
Hold the windscreen in position, using the suction pads [KIT2-VENT]
Allow to cure for 30 minutes before handling
Check the sealing of the windscreen
Refit: the dual sensor (3)
Clip the connector on the dual sensor (3)
Refit
- The cover of the dual sensor (2)
- The rear view mirror (1) (position it and give it a 1/4 turn clockwise)
Additional operations
Refit: the screen pillar trim pads
Refit: the screen pillar trim pads
The scuttle grille
Reconnect the battery
Check the electrical operation of the equipment
