| (1) Different interval may be required for normal and severe service. Severe service is described as long periods of engine idling, frequent short trip operation of less than 5 miles, trailer towing, off-highway operation, snow removal operation, or operating in dusty or excessively hot conditions. (2) Monthly interval does not apply. (3) Inspect air filter every 15,000 miles and replace as necessary. Replace at 30,000 miles unless previously replaced during inspection. (4) Replace coolant at 60 months regardless of mileage. (5) Inspect and adjust belt tension during every 24 months or 30,000 miles, replace if required. (6) Normal service interval is not available from manufacturer. Manufacturer lists service schedule only under severe service conditions. (7) Manufacturer does not specify a service interval. (8) Engine does not use a PCV valve. Engine is equipped with a Crankcase Ventilation (CCV) system which uses a fixed orifice and requires no maintenance. (9) Inspect PCV valve and replace as necessary. This service is recommended by manufacturer and is not required to maintain emissions warranty. (10) Engine does not use spark plug wires. |

COMPRESSION SPECIFICATIONS
Gasoline Models
All engines are equipped with hydraulic lifters. No adjustments are required.
5.9L Diesel (Ram Pickup)
Valve adjustment is recommended every 150 months or 150,000 miles during normal service, every 135,000 miles during severe service. IDLE SPEED & MIXTURE
Note. On gasoline engines, idle speed and mixture are controlled by Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Diesel engines are controlled by 2 different modules. Fuel and emissions are controlled by an Engine Control Module (ECM) located on left side of cylinder block. A/C, charging system, cruise control and transmission are controlled by a Powertrain Control Module (PCM) located in right rear of engine compartment. No adjustment is necessary on gasoline or diesel engines.
