DESCRIPTION
| WARNING | To avoid injury from accidental air bag deployment, read and carefully follow all SERVICE PRECAUTIONS and DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM procedures in AIR BAG SYSTEM SAFETY article in GENERAL SERVICING. |
The Automatic Temperature Control (ATC) system provides for manual or automatic control of passenger compartment air temperature. When automatic mode is selected, ATC system controls blower motor speed, temperature, and mode (airflow).
The ATC system has self-diagnostic capabilities and will store Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) in Body Control Module (BCM). DTCs can be retrieved using ATC control head, Chrysler's Diagnostic Readout Box (DRB), or scan tool. See SELF-DIAGNOSTICS .
Manual Operation
ATC system will be placed in manual operation when A/C compressor on button, blower motor speed and a mode button are manually selected. When full heat (HI) or full cool (LO) is selected, temperature control is no longer automatic.
