POWER SUPPLY

Remove driver's door trim panel. See DOOR TRIM PANEL under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect window switch harness connector. Connect positive lead of voltmeter to window switch connector terminal No. 1 (Tan wire). Connect negative lead of voltmeter to terminal No. 10 (Black wire). If battery voltage exists, check window switch. See WINDOW SWITCH under COMPONENT TESTS. If battery voltage does not exist, check circuit breaker No. 1 in junction block. If circuit breaker is okay, repair open circuit.

WINDOW MOTOR

  1. Remove appropriate door trim panel. See «DOOR TRIM PANEL»(ref-3640-S13696294412000051100000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect window motor connector. Using jumper wires, apply battery voltage and ground across window motor terminals. Motor should operate, unless it is already at maximum travel. Reverse jumper wires. Motor should operate in opposite direction.
  2. If window does not move in either direction, remove screws holding glass lift plate to regulator. Slide window up and down by hand to ensure it moves freely in glass channels. Check regulator assembly. Repair window and/or regulator as necessary. If window and regulator are okay, replace window motor. If motor operates in one direction only, replace motor. See «WINDOW MOTOR»(ref-3640-S10812044062000051100000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.

WINDOW SWITCH

  1. Remove window switch. See «WINDOW SWITCH»(ref-3640-S38110064952000051100000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Using ohmmeter, check continuity of switch. See «DRIVER'S WINDOW SWITCH CONTINUITY»(ref-3640-S26964661292000051100000) table or «PASSENGER'S & REAR WINDOW SWITCH CONTINUITY»(ref-3640-S20024070492000051100000) table. (Scheme 7)or (Scheme 8). If switch continuity is not as specified, replace switch.
  2. Vehicle is equipped with an auto down feature. Driver's window can be lowered without having to hold switch in down position. Auto down feature can be activated by pressing down switch past first detent.
  3. To test auto down feature, reinstall and operate switch in normal up and down mode. If window operates properly in normal mode, but does not operate in auto down mode, replace switch.
